Default Sticky cytoplasm, eggs not maturing and grainy eggs

Hello! As my title says, my eggs are not maturing, they have sticky cytoplasm and grainy eggs.

he is concerned that my eggs are not maturing, they left it for another two days and they still were not mature. Adding to sticky cytoplasm and eggs not maturing he says that not much can be done?

he is doing genetic testing and will see him again in a month, in the meantime I am losing weight.

although he said not much can be done, I am taking 150 coq10, vitamin b d and e.

next round I am doing maximum dose and hope we get "one good one out of the bunch" if not "hard decisions are going to have to be made" ....... Egg donor!

between hubby and myself, I don't know what more could go wrong! We just catch a break at the moment

Hi Jessietroy, cant help you too much but wanted to wish you gl with your next round, at your next apt, ask as many questions as you can. Did they suggest taking dhea or melatonin? I have just started taking dhea, which is supposed to help with egg nos and quality. The coq10, I have heard about that one also. Dhea is on a script, take it 3 times daily

Hi Jessietroy, I saw a post of yours in another thread and just wanted to wish you well on your journey. I wasn't as young as you when I first saw my FS (31) but I was given the mistaken impression that we'd have good outcomes because I was 'young'. Of course then we got my AMH and FSH results back and I found out I have crappy 'old' ovaries. I was on my fourth round of IVF when both my GP and my FS told me it was time to consider egg donation. Utter devastation ensued but that cycle my little miracle happened. I know that everyone's issues are different but perhaps you should look into DHEA, it's meant to help with quality and quantity. I don't know if it's what worked for me as I've had BFN cycles while on it but I don't think it would hurt and it looks like it might be responsible for miracle number two.
Think about getting a second opinion and I hope you're finding all the support you need here on bubhub. I really hope you get your BFP very soon.

Boboo, unfortunately he said there is nothing that can be done for the immature eggs. But I am on 150 for coq10. I am hoping that will improve my grainy eggs. He didn't say anything can be done for grainy eggs, but I think he is more concerned about all my eggs not maturing. I told him about coq10 and he was happy for me to take it. Hoping it does something

hopingformore, thanks Hun. I can see this is going to be a long journey. Being young everyone says as you are young it shouldn't take too many goes! I honestly didn't believe I would have the issues we have, but infertility doesn't discriminate against age. It is absolutely devastating when they suggest that he asked after our 2nd failed round and I was not expecting it at all I have now thought about it more and if that's the route we have to take, we will. But I am not giving up on my dreams of having my own child. A big congratulations for you that must be the best thing ever, especially given your fs mentioned to explore other avenues. As forDHEA, I have heard many women have lots of success. I might ask him if this round isn't successful. But he said its very rare for all eggs to be immature and we can't do anything about it? I have only read four cases on the Internet and those four ladies had to go down the egg donor route......

this time he has put me on menopur which is supposed to help with egg quality and quantity. So I will see how that goes!

Good luck, I hope the menopur makes a difference. Please consider getting a second opinion if you get no improvement.
I totally understand your desire not to give up on your dream, I say hold on tight and make it a reality.

Jessie87 I see from your signature that you are expecting...huge congrats!! I recently have had 2 failed ivf/icsi cycles. The embryologist noted I also had sticky eggs (like peanut butter) when he did the icsi. The doctor couldn't explain what this means. I am curious of you did anything different for your successful cycle? Did you make any changes other than CoQ10?

TTC hopeful, thank you Yours may be different, but sticky eggs are a sign of immaturity. So they couldn't get to icsi for my 2nd round at all. The only difference on the successful round was Menopur. Menopur has a mixture if LH and FSH where as puregon is just FSH. They said 5 were ready to go, collected 7 and 5 were mature So based on how many were ready to do go, 100% success rate compared to 100% failure rate on the 2nd round.
I also had grainy eggs, but with the round I used Menopur for, they were not grainy at all.
We had two embryos at the end of it and they were the 2nd highest quality. The embryologist said she didn't grade it the best because it hadn't fully compacted. But they checked it very early in the morning and my transfer was at 3pm and by then it would have been fully compacted.
I would definitely ask about going on Menopur.

I 100% out it down to Menopur, I was already in 150 coq10 with all the other cycles. I lost 5kgs, but it was Menopur that did the trick. Obviously my body liked the mixture that Menoour has compared to puregon
