Default > Experience with SCU or CSU or CQU

I'm looking at doing a degree in IT. I'm currently enrolled in UNE but I'll be withdrawing before census because of all the troubles I'm having (admin troubles, not me having issues with the content). I'm a bit upset because now it means I'm only doing 1 unit for my education degree this trimester when I could have done a lot more!

So the 3 universities that I've looked at that offer the degree externally, and have 3 study periods a year are Southern Cross Uni, Charles Sturt Uni and Central Queensland Uni.

Has anyone studied with these universities before, and how have you found them for external study? I'm going to call them tomorrow, but I just am really torn at the moment! I'm not going to have a problem getting into any of them going off the grades for my education degree, so that's not even going to help to narrow it down.

I'm doing nursing through CQU via distance and can not fault it! Currently I'm on a residential school school at Noosa. Sorry I don't have much to say other than to say its great. I'm only first year, but I did a prep program with them last year and they have been great hope that helps somewhat

oh awesome - my only issue with them is exam centre, but I've emailed them about it to see if there's any way I can get around it. I LOVE that they have so much information up about units already. I know what week to week is and what assignments are etc. So far their website is just so much better than the other two.

I have been studying through csu, a graphics design module. It's a bit technical we have to learn Adobe cs6 illustrator, in design, and photos hop. We have a lecturer who marks hard, but is always asking us to ring him on his mobile phone and really attempts to make a personal connection. With technology it's really important feel that you can approach the lecturer with a technical issue. There are always those. Anyways hope you find the right one for you. It might help to ask how many lecturers they have to one class, as this could possibly determine the availability that the lecturer could have for you. It's not always the case. I have experienced this personally going from a 50+ external student module, to a 30 student module. The modules would vary from time to time but it's good to looking to it.

Not sure about technical degrees, but I study via distance through CSU, and so far so good.

I studied with SCU, they were really good understanding and flexible. I even managed to continue studying while I was overseas
