I know someone that was dobbed in for claiming spp while living with her partner (father of the kids) and she was investigated and found to be lying.

Maybe instead of rorting the taxpayers, they could try prostitution?
    (Hangover from another thread).

Actually our government should be pretty right for a bit of rorting given all the dosh we're saving by turning away asylum seekers.

    This.
That way it can't be traced to you but hopefully makes them do the right thing.

But if it was family? My own flesh and blood? Even if they were flaunting it, I don't know that I could. I'm loyal to a fault though and the idea that the children who are innocent might suffer through having one or both of their parents serving jail time would make me hesitate.

Seeing as the jail sentences are pathetic in this country for hideous crimes like murder and rape, they'd most likely get a slap on the wrist especially if they played the "it was to benefit the kids" card

I see it as stealing & stealing from me indirectly, so I would definitely dob them in.

What if everyone rorted the system?

This and people taking advantage of Centrelink payments in general really irritate me, but I guess that's another thread.

I read a news article about a woman who had defrauded centerlink by about 150k a few years ago. She was jailed for 12 years and had to pay it all back. I admit, I laughed. A lot.

As for the OP, I really don't know if I would or not.

If they were bragging about it openly at family functions etc - yep I'd make that phone call.
