Thank you Springy. All the very best with EPU tomorrow - I'm looking forward to hearing your result too. I hope it goes well & fingerscrossed neither of us need to convince our DH's to try again
Sunny15 - Wha a fabulous time for you. Relish every minute - It's such a beautiful thing
Octoberbaby - Thank you for sharing your story, it has really helped a lot. what a remarkable jouney you've been on and how wonderful is the chapter your on now.
Em - I have a phone consult tomorrow with Andrew (Doctor of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncturist) at Shen tomorrow. I will definately be talking to himn about DHEA & Melatonin. I stupidly thought Testogel was DHEA which I've been taking for two months now but as I understand it it's different - gosh, I know so little about some of this stuff it's frustrating. Anyway, even though I don't really want to wait another 3 months for my next cycle as I would have tipped over to my 42nd year by then but if it means a higher success rate - I'll definately be doing it
MyHeart - I'm pretty sure my acupuncturist says a treatment within 24/48 hours post & pre egg pick up. I think he's said to me the 2ww is really just to help manage stress/anxiety... but I'm not really sure - does anyone else know?
I'm not typically one to have public pity parties but it's amazing how comfortable & safe this group makes me feel. Thank you so so much - your words have been comforting and hopeful.
And finally, a big hello to everyone else and I wish you all a great week

Hi again Threegoes - I think you can do either or with the Testogel or DHEA - if you've been doing the Testogel, stick with that (I think you only need to do that 1 month before a cycle too) someone on here was using it so they can probably shed more light on that. The Melatonin is prescription only so you'd need your GP or FS to prescribe it for you - the stuff in the chemist is homeopathic.

    Em x

My Heart – Congratulations on the transfer. Ive always done acupuncture pre and post transfer and then about 5 days after for 5 day blasts.
Springrain – That’s great about the amount of follicles you have. You must be so pleased. Biopsy freaked me out too. The first time we tried it, it was so very stressful. Our embryos were too fragile and didn’t get to use them at all. I don’t think our circumstances were very common though.Just the quality of that particular batch of embies? Who knows? Anyway be prepared for the rollercoaster of biopsy. I wish you all the best for tomorrow and the next few weeks. Wish you great numbers tomorrow.
Ann – Happy flying and holidays. It sounds like it will be a very joyful break for you.
Emski – That’s great about your follicle numbers. When I did my first month of melatonin (and it was the tail end of my DHEA taking) I also got amazing results. Good Luck tomorrow, it sounds very positive so far.
Threegoes – you were asking about egg pickup numbers before taking melatonin. For me I went from 6 / 9 eggs to 15 my first month of melatonin. It stayed relatively high but as you can see from my signature it dropped and last cycle only had 5 eggs. I think melatonin affects the quality of the eggs rather than the numbers because it protects the follicular liquid which the eggs sit in, (apparently). I think it’s the DHEA which may improve numbers. Its definitely worth getting a second opinion. You really don’t want to leave any stone unturned. It would be worth seeing wazza. I know you feel that time is creepingup on you. I turned 42 Oct last year and thought I would keep trying till the end of last year. I had envisioned that by the time I had turned 42 it would beleaving it all too late. But then I realised I wasn’t ready to give up and neither was DH. I know 3 months is a long time to wait but probably worth giving it ago if nothing else is working at this stage.
Sonny – Congratulations on your 12 week testing going sowell. I know what you mean about tiredness. Unfortunately Ive been very queasy as well. Bad taste in my mouth still. Apart from that trying to stay positive and calm whilst I wait for my scan and Harmony results. Its one of those things that is so entirely out of my hands.
    Hello to everyone else.

OctoberBaby - What an amazing story...thanks for sharing.

Emsky - Good luck for EPU tomorrow.

Spring - Yay for doing the deed for recreational purposes....it is so much fun and so much less stressful when it is not being done just for IVF purposes!!! Good luck for EPU tomorrow.

Mrsmac - For DHEA to be the most beneficial, it takes approx. 3 months. I think most people don't cycle whilst the DHEA is taking effect.

Myheart - I did acu pre and post transfer and then did another session 2-5 days (depending on 3D or 5D embies) after transfer to aid implantation...usually FS and Acupuncturist would advise me when would be the best time for an implantation acu session.

Threegoes - Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

Teampanda - How far along are you now? Its an amazing journey, isn't it?

Hi Myheart, it's a testosterone patch, I've not used it, maybe it was MrsPontipine on it? It's an alternative to dhea.
Thanks for the good thoughts, will report back tomorrow xx

Hi all... re: testogel, I've used it now for my past two cycles. It's meant to improve egg quality, not quantity. I was told you only need to take it for a month before your cycle, starting on first day of AF before the next cycle. For me, cycle #5 had 4 good fertilised eggs. Cycle #6 didn't produce enough follies so EPU was cancelled, so never got a chance to see how those eggs turned out. Taking it again now, in readiness for cycling next month. I've asked my FS about using DHEA but he said there's not enough evidence of it working, even though lots of ladies on here swear by it. He wouldn't recommend it, so Testogel it is. I'm having a second (third? fourth? fifth?) opinion in a few weeks time with Dr Clarke at Fertility First (Hurstville) and will be one of the questions I will ask her.

    Hi girls brief check in

I mc over weekend - wow that misoprostal is evil stuff! How do women endure actual labour?? I'm out the other side now in happier place, except for the fact ill be back at work of course, but even that will be a good distraction....

Looking forward to hearing some bfps coming in from those of you cycling !

ill try naturally in the meantime. Im really enjoying my body changing back into its usual form (goodbye bloating!). I've put a few extra kgs on I would like to shed before the silly season approaches. IVF seems to make me fat somehow.

i can relate to all those seeking 2nd opinions - I am booked in with wda in march...

I too feel a bit disloyal to my current FS but what can I do? Also tempted to have David Molloy look at my case.
