Ann- my nurse told me crinone is really expensive to buy and so gave me a script for the bullet pessaries. If IVFA are doing $72 for 36 pessaries that's really good. Why am I paying $120 for 30. I'm going to try calling some different places for when I runout.
oh Ann, I feel for you having to go through that receptionist every time you need something. I really think under the circumstances they should be obliging. My clinic was happy to give me as many blood tests and ultrasounds as I felt I needed. I understand that progesterone is not up there with the all important hcg levels but its not like you had a low borderline level of progesterone, yours was actually below the level!
Bertie- what a stuff up! As if we dont have enough stress in our lives!
mrs P - my periods have never been the same since starting ivf. I never ever use to spot, but since ivf some periods I've had 4 days of it. Others no spotting. The drugs change everything. In between my cycle 7 and 8 I went to see a doctor about my light and short periods. I remember it was day 11 after my period. He looked at my lining under ultrasound and basically said he had never in his career seen such a screwed up lining. Funny isn't it, that I could then get pregnant in that following cycle, which I started on day 21.
anyway I had my first obstetrician appointment today. All is still going well. Baby at over 2 cm and saw the flickering heart beat. We have progressed a week further than last time!!!

Bertie, how did you go today. It's so stressful when there are hiccups and things don't go as expected in a cycle. Seems to vary cycle to cycle - good and bad cycles. I once forgot the cetrotide in one of my bad cycles where I only got 2 fertilized eggs.

Mrs Erin, yes we are planning on transferring any 2 embryos on day 2 and growing the rest to blast to freeze.

Ann17, You would think the receptionist would learn how to be more kind and sensitive. They should know how obsessive we get esp when most of us have been at this for years!

Panda glad things are going well. So exciting.

for us for fertilisation result tomorrow.

Ann17 - you deserve to rant over the receptionist. I mean really, who is she??? I can't remember who said it but the comment about taking blood from her arm , funny.
TeamPanda - how exiting for you. That little beat is amazing.
Bertie - I hope all went well with the scan today? You poor thing re needle stuff up. Great thinking....I would have been too busy flapping around in a panic . Having said that, there are a few similarities with you & I.... I went to take my Elonva injection on Tuesday & the damn needle was bent.... I rang clinic & gave the inj anyway..... So far so good.
MrsErinR - I'm wishing the days away for you so you can start FET
Kenta - I've only ever done 5 day blast... I don't think our clinic does anything less?
To those I haven't mentioned above, I hope you are all going well.

    Hi Kenta,

I just want to let you know I am a huge fan of the early transfer. I have never really had huge numbers and not great quality either so I have often had day 2 or day 3 transfers to make sure I actually get a transfer. The blasts I have transferred have all been BFN but I have a DS frim a day 3 transfer and am currently pg with another day 3. I have also had a mc that was from a day 2 transfer. My FS believes there is definitely a case for returning the embryos to the natural envirinment as soon as possible. I've lso been told by FS and the scientists that they believe sone embryis which wouldn't make day 5 in the culture will progress if transferred early. Given my history, I definitely think that's/been the case for me. Good luck with this cycle. I truly hope it's 'the one'!

Hi everyone...I haven't posted for a while, but know Im reading. I think of you all often. I have had a house full....my parents were housesitting and dog sitting whilst we were in South Africa. They left and got the in-laws for a while. All gone now and I have the house back to myself...bliss! Will be the first weekend in the house by myself since early July!

    Welcome to the newbies.

Im 10.2 weeks...Nuchal Scan is booked for 1 Oct. All is going well, except for a bleed at 6.3 weeks, but all good....the bleed ended up being a Subchorionic Bleed due to the Clexane....I owe a big thank you to Micca for calming me down that day. No morning sickness and not suffering from any real tiredness...have been lucky so far, hope it continues for 1 Oct and beyond.

Kenta... yes, good luck for the party in the petri dish tonight. How many eggs did you get? Hope you're feeling well :-))

Ann.... that is just dreadful about the receptionist. It's probably worth an email to the clinic, just so it can be noted, and so she can get some "sympathy" counselling. Though IVFA receptionists sometimes are not on the ball, they are all lovely. Actually, it recent months I've found them much more organised (or is it, that I so much more know what's going on, what to ask etc).

Octoberbaby2010... when are you due? It sounds like you've done many cycles too.

Sunny15.... congrats on getting so far. It's always so wonderful to read more about your success story. I can literally feel how happy you are :-))

Threegoes.... we were crazy with worry, and both DH and I were particuarly freaked out about re-using the "used" drawing-up needle, but when I told the FN about it, either she wasn't worried or wasn't going to let me know it was a problem. Considering that you had a needle "hiccup" too, these things are probably happening far too often. Anyhow, today I was given the biggest bag of all sorts of needles. I said, no, I only need 3 of each for the weekend, but the FN insisted I take the whole bag. Whatever am I going to do with all them!!

AFM.... BT levels this morning are 1450 (so almost doubled from 2 days ago, when they were looking dismal at 750). Only three follicles - 17, 11 and 9, so the big one grew normally, but the two others only at half speed. FS phoned again this afternoon recommending cancelling, and asked what I thought about that. I said, "if I cancel, then I'll definitely get no eggs, but if we go ahead then, yes, I may still get no eggs, but I might get 1 or 2 eggs, and that would be better than none." He said we'd keep stimming over the weekend and have another BT and scan on Monday morning. I asked, if there was a possibility of getting all three to be captured, and he thought there was a good chance of that. I keep crunching the growing numbers and can't really get it to do it, so am in a bit of a quandry as to cancel or not. Guess, I can't really worry about it until we see Monday's numbers.

Hey girls ... A brief update.... Really disappointing 7 wk scan, was expecting to see baby/s yesterday and saw only 2 empty sacs, hcg levels still rising but not at expected rate. One has small subchorionic bleed. FS wants to rescan next week but FN thinks maybe I lost them last week sometime. However, only time will tell. I am not very hopeful despite still having all pg symptoms. Could be blighted ovums ... Had a couple of cries but am working through this ok, I know the mc rate is so high for us at this age. Can't help but feel my undiagnosed low thyroid in the first weeks could have played a role, even though I know most are caused by genetic issues I still think it wouldn't have helped. At least I can fix the thyroid...

It also looks like the other remaining fibroids I have are growing. I think this is to be expected in early pg. After getting the 12cm one out the idea of going through major surgery again is just rubbish. The remaining ones are only about 3-4cm though. Fs has not been worried about the remaining ones previously, just wanted to get the big one in the middle of the uterine cavity out.

Am taking comfort in the fact that I got pg on 2nd stim cycle, amh is 24, and I have 2 frozen blasties waiting. I am really glad I celebrated these little lives for the short time they were with me. Not sure if I should be stopping the pessaries, keep forgetting to ask my fn. my fn said last week that they had a lady in a similar situation this year who delivered a healthy babe last month. The odds are completely against me though, so I'm trying to be realistic and sensible.

    Bertie -

panda. - good job on your scan !
