Oh Bertie.. I agree with everyone else, hang in there til tomorrow & see how they've gone the last couple of days. Big fingers & toes crossed for large follies for you. I'm curious too about your protocol & if the fs changed it after your scan yesterday? Also are you on testogel? I read an interesting article yesterday. About the negative effect on follies & testogel with women over 35. Btw, im taking testegol but seriously considering speaking with fs about his thoughts after reading it.
Hang in there bertie & good luck.
Hi to everyone else... Will write a better reply to you all this evening (have to get to work... Ho hum)

MGC, this is what happened to me (not performing follies) my protocol was stop the drugs for 10 days then start again on the lucrin the when AF arrived start FSH on a higher dose. Maybe suggest that to your FS if you do need to cancel. Then it doesnt feel like you are waiting a whole month to start again.

But Fingerscrossed those follies grow. Has your FS boosted your FSH or given you saizen or anything extra?

Kenta- last cycle mine were all grown to blast. We had 5 at egg collection and 4 fertilised. I asked my doctor about 3 day transfers a while ago and she thought at my age I would be wasting my time and that its better to grow them out to blast. Once we did a 2 day transfer but that was purely because we had such a poor fertilisation rate and it happened after a cycle where we had no fertilisation at all.

We were told it could take up to 6 weeks for them to be completed. And of course the major challenge of getting enough eggs for a chromosomally normal embie...

Springy, - Spoke to nurse today. It will be no problem. When AF arrives I will call the nurse and she will book my little blighters in. Don't need any extra BT's, but we will have to do ICSI. Once we have some embies in the dish, we can decide then whether it is worth doing it or not, so that is fantastic.

AF is due monday then after a stint on the pill we are ready to go. I will have to look up karyotyping blood tests. I want to know what they are considering I'm told I don't need any extra bloods done.

Panda- who are you with ? Iam with QFG but as iam in Syd currently iam being monitored by IVFAust. So I searched around a few places and most of them are around $185 box of 15 crinone. But IVFA is the cheapest $150 box for crinone and pessaries - $65 x 36 (200 mg)or $72 x 36 (400mg) the latter works out cheaper. Have you tried your clinic or a compounding pharmacy ? I didn't even get any for this cycle as it was a de- I was looking forward to my doggie bag when I picked up niece from epu !! Iam upto 4 crinones a day after my prog dipped! But I think I will go down to 3 crinone and 2 bullets.

Bertie - I normally have my epu on day 16 which means I stim til day 14. But yes my fs too says every month it can differ. Keeping my fingers crossed for you hun.

Kenta - I personally won't do a day 2 tx, however I can see your rationale behind it-if you wanted to try a FET cycle for a change. The only thing that I wld be concerned about is that if i have only a few embies (n no.s only decline as they approach day 5) to freeze maybe at thawing time if all don't thaw, I wld be really upset to lose any precious embie. So wld you then choose a not so good embie to tx at day 2 and keep growing the better ones? Because it is hard to tell which one is good/ not so good at day 2 as you probably know what looks great on day 2 can slow down on 3/4 whilst the slow poke decides to pull its pants up and run! In my last tx I had two txs. 1 cavitating morula which was leader of the pack throughout (which is rare the scientist said) and a 14 cell that picked up its game on day 5 and became a good morula on day 5 (while I had other cavitating or morulas on day 4 that slowed down on day 5). Just wanted to share my two cents .

Kenta... I'm doing the "antagonist" cycle again this time - my FS said that it seems to work better for older women than the long down, but who really knows? I'm on GonalF 450 and from d6 have been doing Orgalutran and Luveris.

Threegoes.... I used Testogel last cycle. But this cycle I had a big gap before seeing my FS, so just prescribed myself the Testogel, as based on what the FS had prescribed last cycle. Then my AF didn't make an appearance, so I freaked out and stopped the Testogel, thinking I'd somehow stuffed up. AF came, saw the FS that day and I started the cycle - I had my big long list of questions, but only realised a couple of days ago that I never mentioned Testogel - but from what I remember last cycle, I stopped using it when I started stimming (I think!!)

Fingerscrossd11 - thanks for your tips on a protocol. I've written it down, so I can ask him tomorrow (depending what BT and scan in the morning brings). No, he didn't give me any boost or change dosages - I did think that was a little strange as that's what I understood was the reason fr taking GonalF and Luveris separately, rather than taking Menopur.

Ann17.... good to know others have stimmed for a long time. It made me think and look up all my cycles, For interest's sake:
    - #1 - stimmed 7 days, trigger d8, EPU d10 (6/10 mature)
    - #2 - stimmed 11 days, trigger d12, EPU d14 (2/2 mature)
    - #3 - stimmed 13 days, trigger d14, EPU d16 (3/6 mature)
    - #4 - stimmed 10 days, trigger d11, EPU d13 (2/4 mature)
    - #5 - stimmed 11 days, trigger d12, EPU d14 (4/5 mature)
    - #6 - eta stim 14 days, trigger d15, EPU d17

And, here's another stuff up - Wed at BT and scan FN gives me more GonalF, Luveris, Orgalutran, Prengyl, bag of needles for Pregnyl and pessaries. Walked out with a totally full bag. Wed night, DH goes to get everything ready - the FN has forgotten to give me needles for the Luveris. Of course it's 9.45pm, so nothing will be open. I pull out the bag of needles for the Pregnyl (as we don't need that until ET) and decide that the syringe and jabbing in stomach needle will work, but need a needle to draw up the liquid and mix it. We look at various options, but nothing will work. In the end, we had to break open the yellow sharps container and re-use one of the drawing up needles from the night before - we thought, since it was only used to mix the liquid and wasn't actually jabbed into me that it would be OK!!!!!!! Sterilised it with a wipe and off we went. Like as if I needed added stress this cycle!!!

MGC Bertie, just wanted to wish you all the best for your scan tomorrow. I really hope your follies have had a nice growth spurt.

Kenta, are you planning to transfer a day 2 fresh, and grow the rest to blast for future natural FET? I've been reading along but I didn't quite follow what you meant. I'm doing my first Natural FET next month. My clinic prefers to grow them to blast if possible. If there are less than 4 fertilise then they freeze them at day 3 instead. We have one blast from a good cycle, and also a 3 day from our last cycle where we only had one fertilise.

Hi to everyone else. I've been reading along as always, but just not a lot of time for responding. Counting down to our FET. Can't come soon enough!

Oh yes I had my bt yest 18dp (trying to track my prog) beta 11,500 and prog 31, that's after 4 crinones and 10 proveras!!!

Ok sorry girls rant time please- the receptionist made me really upset and I felt a bit patronised as she asked me are you bleeding and I said no and then there's this long awkward pause (as she is rifling through my bt) and I said I like to keep a track of my prog and see what iam doing is working or not. And she's like oh the Dr did tell you that it can fluctuate.......so it's not important your prog, I wldnt be too concerned, I wld just be looking at the hcg and she Was carrying on about prog Level not being important..... She made me feel like I really inconvenienced her so I said to her it's taken me a miscarriage and 5 years to get to this point and if all it takes is a little bit of blood just to give me that peace of mind then it's a small price to pay. She went on to say "iam just worried about the state of your mind "!! I replied my state of mind is fine!! I mean honestly girls tell me my prog dipped to 17 and yes iam bting to keep a track to see if its going up and what iam doing is working or not is that so wrong?? Or have I lost the plot? Dh just said she isn't the one who has been trying for the last 5 years and prog level may not be important to her it certainly is to us. I also apologised to her for ringing them up and bothering them with my blood test results. Even the nurse who draws my blood is interested and every time she asks so did it go up ? You certainly dont want it at 17. So today I rang up and xld my bt cause she made me feel like a fruit loop and I feel intimidated in ringing her up. And the weird thing was I had my bt done yest morning but by 5 my results still wasn't in and I rang up today and the first two times she said to me no it wasn't there yet and I said but I did it yest morning and I always get it on the same day and its still not there .......... Then she goes (shuffling)oh hang on I have it here......and then that's when she asked me why was I getting my bt done?? Its not like i test everyday!! Bullied out of my bt ! Lets hope my prog behaves ! Thx guys rant over!

I always thought that the drawing up needle and sharp needle for pregnyl was the same for luveris. But good thinking about breaking open the sharps container lol. You are right, its only used for drawing up so it would be ok to use.

Ah Bertie, - Just what you don't need ... The amount of times I/we all would walk out the door and have forgotten something, but when it is as important as this they should have a fail safe, like getting a list to check everything off as they put it in the bag so they don't forget anything.

Ann, - Don't get intimidated by a receptionist, get her to organise repeat bloods for you. God you would think you wanted to take the blood out of her arm. They just don't get it, do they . Could you ask to speak with the nurse next time?

AFM, - 4 days of light/intermittent spotting. AF isn't due till monday. It makes me nervous if my body is not behaving properly before a stim.
