Thanks MGC ... My low thyroid has tried to rear its ugly head a couple of times but got better with iodised salt right before I started cycling. Now as you say the thyroid demand has increased (especially 1st trimester) I've become low again. Kudos to my GP for wrestling me into some early antenatal bloods. I'll get checked again in 2 weeks, and I'm only on 50 of thyroxine... Hoping I feel better on this as I had all the symptoms....
I remember you saying you were wary of 2 ET because of the demand this would place your body under from a thyroid point of view ? I had 2 but am hoping only 1 took... Is that something your doctor recommended or was it your own conclusions?

MGC i was looking at your signature and you have only had 2 transfers.... Is that right!? Pretty optimistic for this one then! Surely this is the one!

After tf... i never ate pineapple core either but did go with the mcmuffin ....and I did light walks on beach alternating with couch time, looking at lots of photos of babies! I had to quit acupuncture first cycle because the needles put me in a cold sweat. My mum came along and said she couldn't bear to see me with needles either lol so we canned it in exchange for yummy breakfasts.... Spent a lot of time in socks as per acupuncturist though. It's probably all voodoo .... But the socks did feel nice

Butterfly - Im on Thyroxine too, every other day. Apparently I have high thyroid antibodies.
Bertie - thanks, now I understand why fs said Ill need to take thyroxine every day from now on. She made me have another blood test monday too but I thought Id wait for the results before I take one a day.

Wow Panda - Yes the baby consumes some of the thyroxine and some is also bound by hcg so more is needed. I don't have antibodies. Hopefully Im just iodine deficiency but still may need to continue on the thyroxine indefinitely, I think I can come down on the dose 2nd and 3rd trimester as hcg falls. In pregnancy too the ranges are different, they like the tsh under 2.5 instead of the usual 3.5. Glad you ladies can help with this, ... Seems I'm in good company here, phew!

So Panda did you have nk cells tested seeing as you have evidence of autoimmune disease? They are supposed to entertain that diagnosis if you have an autoimmune process already. It's interesting again Bertie that they didn't test you if you had Graves' disease - people with pre existing autoimmune disorders have a higher rate of autoimmune implantation issues too. I guess the question then becomes if you already will have a positive test due to the graves then that test would become meaningless so wouldn't you have just proceeded straight to endometrial scratch, or wouldn't they just assume and treat ? Interesting case you are! Sorry for intellectualising ....

Butterfly - My fs tested me for thyroids and next thing I knew I recieved a script in the mail and note telling me I needed to take thyroxine. I knew very little about why I needed to take thyroxine at the time and had to ask my gp what 'high antibodies' meant. He said to me that I could develop thyroid problems later on in life. I had never had any so called symptoms with a stable weight,no hair loss etc. Maybe some fatigue but Ive felt tired all my life.
I was tested for natural killer cells and my tests came back as saying 'natural killer cells are at the rate of the order of 13 cells per high power field'. FS said that was slightly elevated but nothing to worry about. Anyway I am on clexane and prednisilone and coming off predniolone this week.

So Panda it sounds like they just went ahead and treated you for nk anyway with the steroids. I bet you will be glad to get off that stuff...

It's funny that you just got a script in the mail for your thyroid issue - I would be a little miffed about that from a bedside manner point of view. Are we supposed to google our way through everything? Lol. Anyhow it's just a bit more difficult when things aren't explained, isn't it.....

Antithyroid antibodies are a marker for progression of hypothyroidism (but you can progress even if you dont have them) and the most common cause for having them is Hashimotos thyroiditis. There are other causes of thyroiditis too. You could always see an endocrinologist, although from a treatment point of view it sounds like your FS is all over it.

Hey Tiny - he is catching two planes to be here in Syd for Sat just one day, except that he might sleep off half the day! Then he flys to Europe on Sunday . Plus will be busy with my other nieces wedding that Sat night. But after the wedding I will stay with him at the hotel n come back to my sister on Sun. Iam planning to be here for three more weeks, just want to be closer to my fs.
