Myheart - thank you. I really dont know what to say re: another stim or donor. It's a big decision - go with your heart & you'll make the right one 😊
Jojozeck - wow, sounds like you have been on a very big journey. I wish you all the very best.... I too am very bad at the acronyms & IVF lingo. I've been reading through the forum for ages & am really surprised by the depth of knowlege my learned friends here have (ie, blastie quality & i think its estrogen levels, etc). My specialist doesn't drill down to that level & i must admit i don't ask (but hard if you don't know what to ask😁). I'm sure i'll learn alot here.
Anyway - here's to a great day for all of you 😄

Everybody probably has different views here but im probably a bit on the conservative side ....but once the transfer happens I don't even paint my toenails, or wear perfume and I switch to herbal deodorant and so definitely wouldn't dye my hair. I'm probably at the extreme end?

    Welcome Threegoes and Jojozeck.
Jojzeck my first year and a half of fertility treatment I had a husband who wasnt on the same page as me. I had days where I was wondering why I was doing this by myself. I dont think its an uncomon story in ivf. My other half was drinking and smoking like a trouper. He had the most unhealthiest diet and to top it off he lost his license for drink driving. I was livid with him and at times thought how could I keep going in this manner. Lucky for me he found the error in his ways. The losing of the license was the big wake up call. He hasnt touched alcohol in a year, thank god. And he has been very supportive and wants this as much as I do now. So for us it was up and down at the beginning but a happy ending. So I know how hard it is when your partner isnt there for you. Good luck on this journey, you sound like a very strong women.
Tinybaby I did dye me hair in the 2ww of my first cycle, and there after. Last year I decided to try ammonia free colour. Its very expensive and the colour doesnt last long but I feel more comfortable with it. I am going this thursday night to have my roots done but am going to see if they can maybe give me low lights or foils, as though its advertised as natural it still itches my scalp which makes me wonder what the active ingredient actually is.

Jojozeck welcome and hello! I hope your stay here is short and productive.

Myheart, how was the elonva cycle the worst for you - was it in terms of egg numbers, embryo numbers or embryo quality? I'd love to hear what happened. I'm not with Lynn, I'm in Sydney

Tiny, I have already asked my FS about just about everything you could ask about from what I put on my skin to what I eat, and her answer is always the same - "It's almost always about the embryo, not about what you do that determines the outcome". So I've had the go ahead for anything I've asked about in the 2WW - yoga walking, pilates = good, beauty therapy OK especially if you find it relaxing. She doesn't recommend bed rest either, and has told me there's no evidence in her opinion to support it. She even gave me a link to an article that showed better BFP rates in women who engaged in light activity after transfer (ie walking.)

AFM - had our scientist etc appointments today for CGH. The people we saw were lovely, but it was a huge anticlimax, we already knew what they told us. At least DH and I got the day off and had a nice lunch together.

Jojozeck... welcome to our lovely thread. You'll find lots of great support and advice here. As to the signature down the bottom of your posts, you have to go to the "User Panel" tab, and then edit your signature.

Just checking in quickly before going to bed. Updated the roll-call as best as I could - it's on page 44. I won't keep cutting and pasting it, but have decided that everytime we get to a page ending in zero (e.g. next one at 50), then I'll re-post it, so that everyone can find it easily, without having to scroll back. Hope that sounds like a plan

Jojo, - Welcome. You sound like a very strong lady. I hope you and your DP (dear partner) can get onto the same page soon. I don't know what it's like to not have the support, but I don't think I could do it without it.

Tiny, - I always try to dye my hair outside of the 2ww, however I did dye it all through my pregnancy. I got very paranoid of being pregnant and having grey roots.

AFM, - I had my FS appointment this-morning. i thought we were going to talk about a change of protocol for my next cycle, but I got told that he will be away, and won't be able to treat me until November. We are moving state in Nov, so it looks as if I will do the commute to cycle with WDA after all. I'll touch base with his nurse when she comes back next week, to see what, if any, changes we will make to the protocol he gave me in May. If it all works out I'll start the OCP (oral contraceptive pill) on day 4 of my next cycle, so I will probably stim in October.

This will be my last stim. I really don't want to do it anymore after this, as I'm just over it. I go back to work in January, so I will have my hands full with that, and everything else that comes with moving to a new state. I have the most gorgeous DS you could wish for, and I count my lucky starts every day that I was able to conceive him at the age of 43. And I have a wonderful DH, who today sent me a big beautiful bunch of flowers after I phoned him (he is away) crying that we couldn't cycle locally. I was ready to throw in the towel then, until I spoke to him.

BTW Jojo, - He was the same guy that told me, when I was 38, that he didn't want to have kids.

Hi everyone. I've been reading along but not too much updating. I'm sorry...I just can't seem to keep up with the personals! So, hello to the newbies and to everyone else, wherever you are in your cycles. MGC, thanks for doing the roll call. That's great.

AFM, last time I was on here it was to report that we had had a disastrous cycle with only one egg fertilised that didn't make it to day 3. I was pretty devastated after the effort I put in.

Well, last night I received a summary letter for our cycle and you could imagine my shock when it said that one embryo had been frozen! I rang today to confirm...and it's true

We can't imagine why the FS told us it hadn't made it. Did he read the report incorrectly, or was it the wrong report, or did we just misunderstand!!!??? I will never know, but the bright side is that we do have an extra frostie waiting for us.

    Crazy stuff.

Fingers crossed that this is the lucky emby after all the drama.
