Anything can happen - this time last year I was being told by my doctor that I had to have my 'horrible old uterus' out. Imagine if I had believed that.

Hi all, i'm new to forum but have been following for a little while. Fortitude, i was sorry to hear your news. I hope you can get some answers to help guide you.
For everyone cycling, i wish you well 😊
My story is a 15 month old baby from 2 ivf attempts. Five & 6 eggs only 2 blasties each time. As my daughter was born at 31 weeks, its taken all my best negotiating to get DH to agree to a sibling (hence the threegoes). i'm half way through my first cycle with EPU on Wednesday. i had four follies on Friday which I'm not so sure about.... fingers crossed. This cycle has been a bit crazy withh 600 Gonal F, Prednisone, Saizen, Orgalutran & Testogel (+ Acupunture & supplements). Would be curious to hear from anyone about overstimulation. I heard you are at greater risk post EPU?? Whilst i've been really good (almost too good) with meds, i was feeling really lousy yesterday & was wondering if anyone would like to share their symptoms/experiences. 😊
    btw... I'm 42 years young.

Hi Threegoes, - Welcome to the Fab 40's group. Congrats on your 15 month old treasure, and I hope you are successful for a sibling with this cycle .

I don't have any experience with hyper-stimulation myself, but I would say (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) that you won't have an issue with it due to having 4 follies, and being really good with meds. The problem comes with having lots of follies. (again, correct me if I'm wrong.) If you have any concerns, start drinking lots more water, and call your FS. Talk to your FS anyway, just for piece of mind.

    Best of luck for wednesday.

    MrsP...

Welcome threegoes, hope you will have only a short visit here and take home your little sibling :-)
i haven't got much experience with medication at all, but I was just talking with a friend of mine today and she did IVF. She was on clexane, but she said her dose was way to high and it never got adjusted, so she lost all of hers. But I'm not sure if there could have been any other reasons as well.

i wish you good luck for your next transfere :-)
    lots and lots of

Threegoes, hi and welcome, hope your stay here is short and productive . I had OHSS after my first fresh cycle, but I also have polycystic ovaries. I had been using Gonal F for about 12 days, and had >20 follies in each ovary by EPU, but most of them were quite small. It was worst about 48 hours post EPU: I had swollen so much by the time I went to the hospital emergency unit that the nurses asked me how many days it was until my baby was due (??!! ) I had to tell them I had just had EPU. I also had difficulty breathing and was in a lot of pain (it hurt when the car went over bumps going to the hospital). It took about 10 days for me to feel better. Now I understand that if hcg (pregnyl) is used as a trigger this can set it off. My FS will use a different one for my next cycle. I did do another cycle at the end of last year, which was shorter in length and with a pregnyl trigger but that was a freeze all, and I didn't end up with OHSS. Hope that helps.

Thank you MrsP & StillHope for the warm welcome & comments.
Far out SpringRain, that sounded like quite an experience. I guess there was no mistaking the symptoms of OHSS for you, you poor thing. I have heard Pregnyl has a higher risk factor for OHSS - I'm triggering with Ovidrel. All the best with your next cycle & thankyou so much for sharing 😁

Twocam – congratulations with your scan!
Springrain – you are with Lynn too? I have just moved toMonash and Lynn… I tried elonva when I was at Melb – it was my worst cycle…don’tlet that put you off trying but I think you should ask more questions…
MGC – Please add me to your list under Waiting to cycle – I amwaiting to do an FET cycle...
Fort – don’t be disheartened…I know how you feel…I have beenthere with multiple miscarriages…it is so hard…
Threegoes – welcome…I don’t know much about hyperstim… Ihave had cycles on 600 gonal f but I had better results when I was on 300 gonalf…

AFM - still waiting for my FET cycle to start... focusing on being healthy... still not sure if I should listen to my doctor and do another stim cycle or move to donor eggs now...

    Hi,

I've been TTC since early 2012 with a combination of IVF and IUI rounds but mostly IVF.

Have travelled this path with a 'partner' who comes in and out of the process as he sees fit. So pretty stressful as I juggle between him and donors.

I have cycled month after month and do not take breaks...except earlier this year around January.

The best result I had to date was a blasti transferred mid last year....but no luck, My partner has a very high DNA frag rate of 46% so lucky to get that far.

My results with age have declined with it getting to a point for the the first time that I actually had no viable embies for an ET cycle before last. I think that's when I finally hit the IVF cry wall.

This cycle had 6 eggs retrieved ( Have had between 10-2 throughout). Used donor Sperm and have started an intense (rather than the previous dabble) regime of acupuncture.

4 fertilised however it was grim. By day 3 with cell division very slow it looked like there was nothing to transfer.

Day 4 as I headed to my acupuncturist I told him to treat me for a sickness I was feeling rather than prepping me for an ET as it looked highly unlikely. My Dr called while I was sleeping off the sickness in the afternoon. I missed the call and assumed it was him advising me that we would be cancelling ET for the next day.

Day 5 I rang early expecting him to tell me sorry...only to hear that "two of the buggers have decided to pick up their pants and run". I was advised to call the scientists first thing in the morning of Day 6 to check on their status. Sure enough I had a 4bbc blastie and a morula...so was thrilled. Still the % odds are stacked against me but at least there are some % there.

I had the ET last week on Wednesday. So fingers crossed.

This my first post....so hopefully I'm in the right place and not crashing. I'm at a point when I feel it would be nice to reach out.

Not sure how to use all the emoticons or how to do the abreviations at the bottom like "ME 42" (eek when did that happen), "TTC" or " DH" thing...(truth be known he ain't that darling if that's what the "d" stands for)...so bear with me. But at least I've made an appearance. So waiting now to start HPT probably start on Friday two days after my last pregnyl shot today (naughty but I like gradual disappointment rather than a crushing big one).

Also interested in perhaps connecting with other ladies that are trucking along this fertility highway solo.

So greetings and I hope my thread protocol is ok!
