A no to both means you are an arm chair warrior.
I'm not going to answer those questions as a) I don't need to trumpet what a do in real life and b) I am still studying so can't make any involved plans for the future.

It does annoy me though that academic knowledge is deemed in the 'arm chair warrior' category. What a waste of 3.5 years apparently.

Can someone join my new club, it is the arm chair warrior club. It is really cool, we sit around and paint our toenails and talk about refugees.
I logged back in just to join your club .

But I disagree with VP, I think those that have/are studied/studying the issue aren't necessarily armchair warriors.

I don't classify you as one if it makes you feel better.

The theme that has run through this thread, that academic knowledge is not deemed valuable to this debate is about as dumb as the PNG "solution".

    .
Because knowing someone is talking from personal experience gives their story more credibility in my eyes. And that is something that is sorely needed in a debate such as this where the mistruth and propaganda on both sides is overwhelming.

Same, but my dad was an actual illegal immigrant. Not claiming asylum or anything. Just loved it and stayed - and no one ever had a problem with him because he was white and spoke English. The irony is not lost on me
