Off topic, but I find The Australian the best.
If you feel that the ABC is not biased, can you name a conservative or a 'non-left' host of any political shows on the ABC? Or a panel where the left are outnumbered?
I have never seen an episode of Q&A or Insiders where conservatives have been the majority panel. Can you?

    I wouldn't disagree with that.
But claiming bias would mean so many sources would be discounted, apart from impartial academics.

Well, it is different. I mean, in PNG, women are still used as a commodity, traded around to appease tribesmen, they are also 6 times more likely to be accused of sorcery than men, and accusations of sorcery are often used as an excuse for extreme violence against women. Apparently the police there complicit in widespread sexual violence against women. So coming to a country where I and my girls would be safe is a NEED, not a WANT, in my book. Having equal rights, safety, education and opportunity are not unreasonable needs, and we are denying people these necessities by sending them to a country that is incapable of providing them.

Probably 2GB or similar. They're very impartial, lol!

The Australian is a newspaper to the right, as are vast majority of the newspapers in this country.

This is one show on the abc. Tony Abbott has turned down many invitations to appear on the show, hasn't been on for well over 1000 days

Just out of curiosity, do you actually listen to abc radio or watch their news?

I just can't help but feel so very sorry for the people stuck for decades in those camps I also hate the people smugglers and their methods (that gate is not directed at refugees who have been snared by them). I hate that people are drowning in a desperate attempt to get to safety. I don't hate the refugees, I feel they are victims in this whole thing, but honestly these people smugglers need to be stopped.
As an aside families, women, and children are not being sent to PNG (just single males).

I know if it were me I'd end up one of the people in the camps, we don't have access to fast cash and our stuff is pretty nifty but not worth much to anyone else (they could buy new off eBay for cheaper). I guess that's why my empathy is more with them, I could see us there waiting and waiting and waiting for decades.
Personally I'd love it if we could just take them all, I don't think our infrastructure or water supply could take it though (not to mention the rise in cost of living).

Watching SBS right now and coincidentally an ad came on for 'Go Back,' they're replaying the entire second season Tuesday at 7.30pm.
