Most sex therapists are just normal therapist who focus on sex related disorders or issues (sex/porn addiction, physiological impotence, sex crime victims trying to regain their sex lives)....

My dad is a sex therapist. He is self employed, but he does not have sex with his clients. I dont know of any sex therapists that sleep with their clients! I know my dads main clients are same sex orientated, transgender, teens and disabled. Alot of counselling sessions. He also offers support to sex workers and educates in safe sex & sexual health at schools, mens groups, prisons and more..

And to the pp that asked where you get a degree in sex therapy... my dad did a masters of sexual health at sydney university.

I dont believe that sex work is shameful, but thats probably to do with my upbringing.

I cant go past this. Rape is not about getting laid, rape is about power.

She actually commented on the article herself that when she is engaging physically with clients its as a surrogate and not so much as a therapist. I don't know- I can see value in what she does. I can't help but think many sex workers are doing similar things without the training etc.

I think the lady in this article is a glorified prostitute. But worse. A bit like a doctor that boofs his patients: an abuse of power that is full of dangers.
