Default Spin off*** Is prostitution shameful?

Since this seemed to be the underlying topic being discussed in another thread thought I would spin it off over here....

That way everyone can discuss/debate their personal views to their hearts content without derailing the OP's request for advice 😉

Yes. Its indicative of poor decision making, and a lack of self respect, intelligence and morals. It is not something to be revered.

However I don't think it should be held against someone who has broken free from the industry.

Dependant on your situation and reason. If you are taking $50 for a bj so you can buy drugs then yeah. If you are charging $4000 a night and are making more in a weekend than most people make in 4 months then power to you sister

Traditionally it is the oldest trade known to man. It has always been the job women have done if they can't do anything else. Then it was a shameful occupation.

Now i think it is different. There are the different classes of prostitution. I personally don't find it could ever be something to be proud of doing even if you are making $4000 per night. So yes i think it is still a shameful occupation.

I find it less shameful then drilling for coal seam gas or working for some of the big greedy polluters. I guess it depends on your moral compass and defining who is really harming our communities.

I think paying for sex is more shameful than the act of prostitution.

It shouldn't be shameful. It's just a job.
To the PP who said it is shameful if its a $50 bj to buy drugs, but it's ok if you can make $4K in a night... I don't agree. The drug habit is usually an addiction, so it's a disease unto itself- would it be less shameful if it was a $50 bj to buy drugs to treat a stomach ulcer? Or a mental illness? Or a chest infection? Providing an adult (male or female) enters into it freely, I don't think we can apply such conditions. It is what it is, regardless of motivation.
