Default DS scared of being nappy free

DS has just turned 2 and we are thinking of starting toilet training in earnest in a couple of months. We've had a potty for a while and he sits on it (with pants on) while I go. A couple of weeks ago I bought him some undies pull up nappies and thought I'd just try them out to gradually get him used to them. He HATES them! As soon as I go to put them on him he chucks a huge tantrum, goes and gets a normal nappy and then lays still on the bed for me to put it on (when usually he wriggles non-stop during nappy changes).

Would you say this is a sign he's not ready for TT yet? Will he outgrow this issue or should I persist?

I'd say give it a rest and come back to toilet training when he is ready.

My son didn't toilet train until closer to 3. We had lots of rounds of trying, see what happens, not ready, give it a break... Try again a few weeks/months later.

I'd say keep giving it ago we just toile trained our son at 2 he didn't like not wearing nappies but its all change for them. We kept persisting and after 2 weeks he was fully trained during the day at night he wears a pull up ad we call them his big boy night undies
He may not be ready like our son but persistence is the key If your willing
    Good luck
