I have a family history of chromosomal issues and will need a cvs in my next pregnancy. I not sure if this verifi test will be suitable for us but can someone tell me how much it costs? Thanks

It was $1250 here in Adelaide. There was also the materni21 test through another lab which is pretty much the same and cost a little more. If you google verifi prenatal test their web page has a lot of info on it. It tests for trisomy 13,18,21 and some of he sex chromosome abnormalities if your doctor ticks this option too (no extra charge but you will find out the sex of your baby if you goose this option) xx

I just had a Verifi test done on Monday in Perth - it cost $900 (it's come down in price since earlier this year).

My risk factor for T21 is 1:195 - I'm 28, scan was perfect (fold 1.4mm), HCG was fine, but Papp-A was low. I don't know what the exact figures were for those unfortunately.

My specialist told me that it's very common for Papp-A to be low in an IVF pregnancy, which is why he recommended to get the Verifi test done instead of going straight to amnio.

Fingers crossed for all of us we get good results and all this worry is for nothing

    Just to update:

We got the test results back 10 days after bloods were taken.

Everything is normal and we are so excited that we'll be welcoming a baby girl in April

Such a relief and I can't recommend this test enough to anyone considering it

    Thanks CookingMonster

I hate reading threads where people say they're getting some sort of test and they never come back to report on the outcome. It's so helpful for other people looking for info, or just that little bit of reassurance that things can turn out ok!

I totally agree! I did something similar a few years ago when I experienced a similarly stressful event. I thought it would help people when they search for old threads to help. 😃

Just wanted to quickly update this for anyone who reads this going through the same thing - my results came back negative for chromosomal problems. I was monitored closely through my pregnancy and had my baby boy by c-section at 33+2 weeks due to IUGR. He is now 14 weeks old and happy and healthy. He is tiny but should catch up over the next few years
