Helonwheels - fabulous news! Roll on your OB appointment.

Pixel - Love that your donor is emailing & you too. I agree and would actually love to be able to stay in contact if we can, which I think we can via the agency, so at least that's something.

Sooty - I really think you should call Dr M and ask him directly about all of this. If he deals with this drug all the time he would know the risks - and really should have told you what they are.

Otherwise, maybe you should get a second medical opinion on whether or not you need to be going to these extreme measures? I know I would not want to be taking a drug that potentially caused cancer unless it was 100% necessary.

Hi Sooty - I totally agree with Rainbow..
If it is making you uncomfortable, then write all your questions down, so you don't forget anything and ring him. Insist on a phone consult.. Make a booking if necessary - and just nail him down on all your queries.

I had a situation, during our Oz IVF journey, where I constantly felt under-informed from our FS.. At the end of the day, they are there to inform and reassure you, and alleviate your anxieties (which is paramount on this path we have all taken).. ITS THEIR JOB !!!! Sometimes, I think that is forgotten. Don't be afraid to push him on something you don't understand either... make your Doc explain it using the basics. They can baffle us with their science at times and it makes you feel stupid..
fingers crossed you can get through and recieve the info you need. xxxxx

Rainbow & Helonwheels - thank you.
I think I'll do that. I've found a UK Fertility Friends website and lots of ladies are on it over there - must be more common, but they too have had the same concerns and some have chosen not to use it. I'll call him Monday.

I've just realised how long it's been since I last posted.

Congratulations Abundance I knew you had made the BFP list. So sorry I thought I had posted something.

nicole yay twin girls, how lovely.

    welcome to the newbies

Laned, so glad to hear the test was negative, huge relief. Did you hear we now have to worried about the latest bout of measles!

ive been MIA as Matty has/had hand foot and mouth disease, thanks day care, poor little mite has his eye teeth coming through which are the worst for pain then this! Ive spent many sleepless nights cuddling him. We are now on the other side but he still isn't 100%. I'm hoping he will be ok by the end of the week. I'm also hoping the epidemic will be finished by the time he goes back to day care as he will need t go 5 days whilst I am away, it's just me and hubby, we have no one else who can look after him if he gets sick.

sorry if I've missed anyone, I've a crying baby to see too.

Helon - - excellent numbers. I am so pleased for you. Can't wait to read your update when you have your Ob appt. how very exciting for you both. Congratulations Hun.

Sooty - I am not certain as to what the normal dose and frequency of administration of the drug is. By that, it may mean those persons susceptible to the cancers referred to may be prolonged users. Either way it is a scary list of side effects, so asking the specialist would be the best way to go.

Interestingly, I went to a conference yesterday and they mentioned the use of Naloxone for immunological issues with fertility. It is only a very new use for the drug, but seems to work due to the suppression of white blood cells. May be worth considering for some ladies.

Jodie - you poor little man. He has copped it in the last couple of months poor pet. Pity you live in Sydney, I would have offered to look after him for you. Likewise, we have no family here. It does make it hard. Hoping your little man recovers soon. Xx

AFM - What was that about no more drama!!! Seriously, I asked a friend if I had a 'drama queen' tattoo on my forehead.

We have been ripped off big time - $845. I purchased a pram from a woman via gumtree. The woman sounded completely legitimate. Told me all about her little boy and how she wanted to now buy the new Quiny and how she had previously sent a pram to Perth. Asked me all about our little man. She rang couriers etc. Said she didn't know how to use PayPal. So I transferred money by bank transfer.

Turns out no further communication since transfer. Has ignored all correspondence (until today).

Through my quasi investigative work, I have discovered that she is a mother of 5, was calling herself by her daughter's name, had me transfer the money to her daughter's bank account, involved the 13 y/o daughter in the fraud, once studied to be a midwife and threw a party for her son with the money.

At all previous times she has referred to herself with her daughters name until, a Facebook search tipped me off. I then texted her asking her if they enjoyed the party at a specific facility (which I named) and then noted that my bank account did not demonstrate the return of money (I asked for a return of money). I also advised that i had contacted the Police and that a report was on foot (which is true). She then answered text immediately, using her actual name. She became abusive in the texts and told me she didn't give a s$&! that she was now going to send the pram. Only hoping now she doesn't wilfully damage it.

Anyhoooo, her Facebook page has pictures of the pram, house etc that identifies her. All this has been passed on to the Police (AFP, it's in Canberra).

Unreal, totally against the motherhood code!!! In the end I sent her a text saying it wasn't about her or myself, it was about the best interests of my beautiful little boy and he didn't deserve to be ripped off. I attached a photo of when Will was really sick with tubes etc, hoping that she might have some compassion.

So again ANOTHER bloody drama!! She doesn't do anything to wreck it. I have decided I am now going to sell it, as I don't want something with negative energy. I know that may sound a bit weird.

    Much love to all. Xx

Hi jodi - not sure which part òf Sydney you are in... Would love to help if possible. Send me a message if you get stuck. I'm upper north shore area.

Laned - wot a mess. I truly don't know how people like that sleep at night! I would sell it too... You should be a detective!

AFM I'm starting to pee all night... Inconvenient though it is.... It is reassuring to know that my bladder is becoming some sort of primitive jumping castle for the poppy seed! Long may it continue...

Sooty - I would be stepping away from Dr Google and looking at links and info that is a few years old and get a second medical opinion on your condition and the drugs you have been prescribed.

I think for any "medical professional" to prescribe drugs that have these severe side effects and to not discuss them with the patient is extremely irresponsible. The side effects may well only come into effect after prolonged use, but you deserve to be warned about them and to be able to weigh up the risks vs benefits of using them.

Your predicament is also slightly different, as your first FS said you only had slightly elevated killer cells but Dr M says they are really high? If I were you, I would be seeking a third medical opinion to find out where you truly sit, so that you are not taking dangerous drugs unnecessarily.

Jodi - Gosh you've had quite the list of sickness with your boy with prior to SA and now again - poor wee thing. Hope he gets better soon.

Laned - thanks for your comments, I appreciate it. OMG ooooh words could, but I wont use them, regarding my thoughts regarding that lady. What is it with some people, well you can imagine what type of person she is. How could she do that to a new Mum, obviously no conscience at all, and it probably wont change, fancy abusing you. How awful. I've had something similar happen before on ebay (which I love and use a lot), but not for that amount of money. You go girl - good on you getting right on to her and not letting her get away with it, next time she "may" think twice. I would be selling it too.

Rainbow - Thank you. I phoned Dr M's rooms this morning and he will call me tomorrow as he is in meetings all day. Interestingly Deb (covering for Gwyneth) said no-one else has ever asked about the risk of melanomas...maybe they don't know either.

I have an apt this Thursday with Dr Logistas in Melbourne, he works with intralipids, NK Cell treatment etc, so I am taking all my results in and will ask what he thinks. I'm glad I've kept the appointment, as it will be good to get a 3rd opinion.

Hope all the BFP ladies are progressing along nicely, extra bathroom stops included !

Pixel - thinking of you today with your OB
