Pixel - we were nearly very ready to go to Thailand too! I did loads of research, met up with a lady that had been and was successfully pregnant, she said they were high class as well and of course had a lovely time whist she was there. I had lots of contact with "Pinky" from Marvel IVF Solutions and she was absolutely wonderful, nothing was a problem. All their donors are young Thai girls and just beautiful souls. For those interested it was about $10,200 including PGD, we wanted to choose the healthiest embryo as well (got that idea from the lady that had recently been over) + flights and of course a gorgeous cheap warm holiday! Then we looked into a travelling Caucasian donor, but it was way too expensive unfortunately. We were looking through Global Egg Donors, and your figure of $17500US sounds about right. I too loved the idea of adult pics and meeting them (I struggle with the idea that our child may not be able to track their donor one day should they choose to).... I'm just hoping that one day the laws will change, and trust that we will meet up one day with her. Excited + for you, when we were planning of going there I was soooooo excited as have never been and have heard so many good things.

It may be an idea to start another thread.....?? I love it here too, but know when I was searching for stories on the internet I really struggled for a forum on Thailand, that's probably how I found this!

OMG – I read up on toxoplasmosis and that is some seriously scary stuff! It gave me a new focus for my paranoia, that’s for sure. Thanks for alerting me to that, Missleo and JodiW. Missleo – I’m so sorry that you’re having to worry about that – would it be worth it to get those cats tested? It sounds like your babies are going strong, though, how wonderful! Twins must be a lot to get your head around. Do you mind if I ask you what your first two betas were like? I can’t remember if you posted them in the past.

It seems like if it’s not one thing we have to worry about, it’s another. For example, I started to go grey when I was in my early 20s and now I’m practically white although I dye my hair a dk brown. I don’t know wth I’m going to do about it now but the idea of letting my grey grow in is NOT doing it for me. And my husband’s pretty against me messing with it, especially for the first 3 months. Ugh. Any suggestions would be welcome!

January – those symptoms sound promising! I had the full feeling, too, though I don’t feel it so much now. The cramping timing looks good. How are you feeling now? I’m crossing everything for you and Crystal for the 20th. CRYSTAL, put down the pee sticks!! It’s too soon! Though I was very tempted to do the same – my dh had to practically sit on me to stop me from going to the drug store.

Anait – glad you’re happy with CFC – are you staying nearby?

Pixel – a beach holiday sounds amazing! Hopefully it’ll help you relax when the time comes. I must say that when I was ttc on my own I became totally obsessed with my diet – gluten, alcohol and caffeine free – and exercise and sleep etc etc. I relaxed about everything in the time between my last disastrous ivf and my de cycle but tried to keep everything in check – enjoyed a coffee, a glass of wine, but still kept with about 80% gluten free just because I felt better without it (less bloated). I really did have a what will be will be attitude with this experience and I think the benefit is that I was more relaxed. So as to how can you relax, I don’t know, though I do recommend weekly acupuncture! It was enforced relaxation and felt great. And how nice that you might be able to meet your donor!! We were able to write to ours and we got a lovely email in return, which was just amazing to have. I of course bawled my eyes out.

Sunny – btdt!! Twice! So glad they found it and you were able to relax for the cage diving (hahaha). We didn’t do that – I was up for it but my husband was like, uhhh, no way.

Donna – Witherspoons in the V&A mall has the most amazing sushi and fish and chips ever. If you’re hungry while you’re there I totally recommend it even though you have to sit in the middle of the mall while shoppers walk around you. How amazing that you have Sunny and Anait there with you and great numbers for your donor!! Woo hoo!

Rainbowchaser – ok, I had this happen too. I had to extend my cycle by more than a week and I had spotting throughout it and then, when it came time for AF, NOTHING. I was told that if it didn’t come in 4-5 days to let the clinic know. Of course it wasn’t the day for my coordinator to be there but I emailed Dr LR and he emailed back right away. I ended up going to my clinic here and they took blood and did an internal u/s and figured out I was on about day 2 of my cycle so it was just fine, I was able to sync no problem. That said I was totally freaked out. So my advice is that you should just keep doing what you’re doing but let them know if you have heavy bleeding. The meds should keep you from starting the cycle, though. BTW – so funny about the hotel. I was seriously impressed that you were going to stay there!!! We moved around a lot once we were there, usually at b&bs - a night in Franschhoek, a night in Constantia, etc. It stopped us from getting over saturated by the V&A.

Everyone else – babydust to all!

AFM – I’m just biding my time until the 6 week u/s, trying to eat well, and getting paranoid about everything. I’ve had a lot of cramps – I know there’s a lot of adjustment going on in there but it’s pretty unsettling sometimes. OH, and I’ve suddenly become flatulent. Lovely.

    Hi Ladies,

we are considering going over for an FET but I will probably be going alone due to cost of airfares. Has anyone else gone on their own and would you recommend anywhere to stay? How long did you stay in Cape Town for an FET. I also wanted to hear from anyone that has had Intralipid. In my research I have found that its best administered 4-10 days before transfer which means I would need to have it in Sydney this time. Has anyone had it in Sydney and if so how do you arrange this and how many days before transfer did you have it? I'm also keen to hear if you had intralipid did you also use prednisolone and what dose.

Thanks for all your support ladies. I still follow this thread closely and hope for each and every one of you that a BFP is on the way. Unfortunately the stats indicate that not all of us Will get a positive but we have to try and stay positive. It is cruel that gestone makes you feel pregnant so you just have to sit tight till the blood test. Fingers crossed.

    Morning ladies,

Thanks for all your encouraging words

January, I too am ready for this TWW to be over one way or the other and it makes things easier if there's a plan in place that's for sure

To all the BFP ladies, I hope your doing well

I haven't tested again, I'll wait for bloodwork now but I haven't got my hopes up so I more expect bad news then good. As January said though its good to have a plan in place to move forward. I am going to ask Dr.LR about a treatment with intripilids, I have not been on any form of BC since my son and he's now 15 and didn't get pregnant until last year, I've also had a mc and multiple chemicals and I do have autoimmune problems where my immune system over compensates. Intripilids is the only thing I have not tried so I'd like to throw it all in for this last cycle

No news on my end but I am reading this thread everyday.
I will have my cat tested for toxoplasmosis when the time comes. I live on my own so there's no-one else to clean her litter out and I'll just have to get on with it.

Hope Donna, Anait and Sunny are all having a wonderful time. The shark dive sounds amazing! I'm dreading having to be on the pill. It never suited me 20 years ago.

    Hi ladies,

DJShears - 16 follicles is great, I am so glad you are loving being there

Sunny & Anait - Hope everything is going as it should and you are enjoying yourselves

Sh72 - Safe travels and all the best on Monday

AllieOop - I am glad we moved around as well as I think as great as the V&A waterfront is, it was great to stay in different areas of Cape Town - there is so much more to experience than the V&A. I hope my cramps were a good sign the worst day was Saturday which was 5dp3dt I must admit it did make me feel more positive at the time. At the moment cramps have settled down and I am just feeling "off", nauseas and "emotional". Have just cancelled all social engagements until the 2WW is over! I am very excited for you, it could be twins in there

Crystal - Not long until we know for sure. I hope you get the biggest surprise of your life As we are getting tested on Saturday do you think we will actually receive the result that day? Two more days of waiting would be torture

BJ04 & Jennilee - thinking of you both and hope you are managing to stay sane - good luck

    January

Hi Allie. Unfortunately we had to make the decision to put the sick cat to sleep as she had cancer and kitty litter cleanup was horrid in the end - and it was only after that I thought about getting her tested. Trying not to be paranoid, I'm sure it will be ok as she was mostly a house cat and the only real risk was the 3 weeks she was in boarding while we were in SA. I'm having her sister tested next week.

My first beta was 904 but that was 12dp5dt, the next beta at 14 days was 2140.

Nicole - I have heard from Jennilee by SMS, they are safe and well in Italy but have no Internet so can't get on BH. I think they are back home in just over a week and I'm sure she will update then.

Allie - step away from Dr Google darl. If nothing else, it will send you mad! (PS can you feed me back that advice should I ever be so lucky to fall PG in CT? LOL) I'm sure you will be fine. How funny re the Cape Grace, I was telling the girls at work today about my late night , they all got a big laugh out of it. Mind you, it looks absolutely divine, so might just go down and treat myself to a massage. My husband has been very kind and bought all three of us (our daughter is coming with us also) business class tickets, so hopefully that will mean I can get some shut eye on the way home, but I seriously doubt it! At the very least, maybe I will be a little bit more comfortable with my lumpy progesterone butt, should I be talked into the injections by the clinic?

January & Crystal... not long now until your blood tests. Hope tomorrow passes quickly for you and that you both receive positive news on Saturday.

BJ & Jenilee - thinking of you two also. Hope that you are remaining positive and resisting the POAS!

Sh72 - I hear you re the pill. I have been very moody and have cried at the drop of a hat. I felt like my AF was coming yesterday when it was due. I had one dot of blood when I wiped but that has been it, so hopefully the daily dosage will be all that is required to keep my cycle prolonged until July 28th when I have to stop taking it.
