Hieveryone. Haven’t posted in awhile as Ihave been avoiding the computer for the last 3 weeks. Was getting bad headaches every 2ndday and been trying really hard to avoid them so this week it has been 3 dayintervals between headaches. I am weiningoff the prednisone and suffering a lot of the side effects – fluid retention, bloating, weight gain (6kg in 3wks), hunger. My Mum told me to get the pressure in my eyes checked as it affects thistoo. Am wondering if that wouldcontribute to headaches? I don’t knowwhy I didn’t have any of this before things went pear shaped with mypregnancy. Am seriously thinking of notusing the prednisone next time.
SH72 &Angelmama – Cyndi sent me info on the FET, Cost R6050 (about $645 AUD) and needto be there for 7 days. No details onthe drug regime at this stage.
SOOTYMAY –I was looking at Singapore airlines however my googling didn’t give me anyflights on them for the period I was looking at (mid Nov). The flight you found sounds cheaper than theones I’ve looked at on SA $3430 ret for 2. You really do need to hunt around as the one direct thru SA was $4475.
SH72 – so sorryto hear your news, you will feel much better once it passes and you are able tomove forward.
Donna –hope your dizzy spells are over and you are feeling better
JANUARY –glad for you that it wasn’t ectopic, you sound much happier, hope next timethings go better.
RAINBOWCHASER– goodluck on your journey, looking forward to some positive news on yourreturn.
WISHMELUCK –that is excellent news, 6 frosties too. That will put your mind at ease for a backup plan.
JENNILEE – I wasn’t sure if cravings were an old wives tale or not as Ididn’t experience it. An excellent signthat all is well this time round.
SUNNY –make the most of time with hubby, hope he spoils you rotten so you have plentyof time to relax. When is your firstscan?

AFM – am freakingout a bit about how I’m going to lose this extra weight. Local Dr wants me togo on the pill ready for the next treatment but I’m reluctant to start it thissoon as that also contributes to weight gain. Am not sure what to do when we go back to SA as we tried to see and doeverything when we were there as we weren’t expecting to have to go back for along time. Any suggestions? Have to wait for DH to put in a leaveapplication before booking anything. Nogood paying for tickets only to find out he can’t go!! Would love to meet up with any fellow bub hubbers over there at the same time.

Rainbow good luck with your cycle.

pixel our transfer dates are a day apart at this stage. Enjoy your hols, love love love Thailand and its beautiful people.

wishmeluck sounds like you have a great cycle there, one more for the positives me thinks.

SH72 sorry to hear your news

    Panda welcome

BB4me I hope your headaches clear up soon and you start to feel better. I know what you mean about having done things, we are currently looking at what we can do this time around to. A, safari is out they don't allow under 4 years, but we will still go back to Speirs so he can see the cheetahs and the birds and we will go to the Lion sanctuary too,

Donna how are you going? I've been thinking of you

January glad to hear things progressed naturally and you didn't have that awful shot.

Laned how's the bub doing? They grow so quickly mines a little man now, these 18 months have flown by im sorry to say I still don't get any sleep, teething is not fun, I hope it doesn't affect your bub too much and do invest in an amber necklace they do work.

Sootymay Raddisson is quite pricey but, I'm staying in apartments next door / same grounds as the Raddisson Look at SA-venues for the Granger Suites, which range from around 1000 to 2000 rand per night, I'm getting a deal as I will be there in the off season and staying for 3 weeks. We walked passed these apartments last time we were there and thought they were gorgeous but assumed they were out of our price league, I contacted them on the off chance and was surprised at the cost. You also might want to check out Qantas direct as they had a global sale on recently, I cashed in our tickets we purchased on SA airways because qantas was that much cheaper, with all the fees and charges deducted from cancelling our flights (1600 dollars worth) we still saved 450 which paid for our insurance.

AFM I've been busy at home trying to get things done that I won't be able to do when I get back, like the dreaded spring cleaning. I start my protocol in the coming week and we are off to SA in 2 weeks time, with the timing of everything I will again test in South Africa and find out the result before coming home, I didn't think I would feel this way but I am getting pretty excited which is good, it shows how much I really do want this to work, shame I wasn't in the same frame of mind in November when they transferred my one and only egg that I had frozen here, it showed such great promise, in hindsight I should have waited, the mind is such a powerful thing. Good luck to all, sorry for those I have missed.

    Hi everyone,

    Happy Saturday night!
It amazes me each time I log-on how many of us are heading to CPT. Everyone on this forum shows so much determination, strength and resilience to get on with this rocky journey. I get a lot of my strength from being a member of this formidable club and i might not comment frequently but its good to know that Im not going through this alone... I have my forum buddies right beside me!
Well our flights are booked and we are flying over on the 30 October for FET. We are only going for 8 days due to work commitments. Fingers crossed that 8 days will be enough for us to come home with a springbok on board.
For anyone interested in a preview of CPT try to watch SBS on Wednesday night at 8.30 for Charley Boormans Extreme Frontier. He went shark diving down at Gansbai and Abseiling down Table Mountain. Now DH wants to try Abseiling in November.
If anyone will be in CPT from 31 October - 7 November would love to catch up with you.
For those travelling over soon, safe travels and lots of positive vibes for you.

    Bye for now.
    Makeba x

Hi Ladies, we have made it to Johannesburg, just waiting on our connecting flight to CT. DH landed and of course runs to the nearest bar at the airport to try to watch the Wallabies play the All Blacks. Missed that game, but of course watching the Springboks playing Argentina. Having a chuckle as I am not used to hearing people cheer when the Springboks score.

Had no trouble getting through customs in Sydney and here with all my drugs and syringes. Gave DH and DD a shot of clexane each before we left... They both had a whinge about it stinging... Give me a break I say!!

Had my lining scan yesterday at my IVF clinic in Sydney and my specialist did a blood test as well as they saw a couple of follicles... Spent the day freaking out until those test results came back as I was so worried about ovulating through the Lucrin.. All goo though and emailed the results through to Dr L R and he said they are perfect and that our donor was doing well but her follicles are still on the small side so they increased her dosage and will probably stim her until Friday now instead of Wednesday. I wish I didn't know - because I didn't want to worry but of course now I am. dr L r said not to be that there was plenty of time.

im so excited to be here but so scared. I burst into tears taking off today as the realisation of how far we were going out on a limb here to get a positive was overwhelming me.

good night lovely bub hub ladies. Xxx

Jodi - thank you so much for the hotel hint - I will look at that and the flights - wow, that's a huge saving and well worth cancelling. Sorry, so did you pay $1600 return in the end? I wasn't quite sure ?
