Donna - wonderful to hear that your transfer went well AND that you have a stellar morula and blast on board. Have all my fingers and toes crossed for you - good luck bella!

Anait -Awesome news you have two embies to freeze (IF you need them) wonderful to have that peace of mind. Now go and relax with Donna!!!!

Thank you re your advice on emailing the CFC. I just sent my CFC Dr and Nurse an email to see what happens if my evil AF arrives prior to 3-5 days. This might mean I also need more Lucrin (which woudl be the CT end of the cycle, so presumably I would be able to pick this up easily from the clinic?) IVF is THE greatest rollercoaster ride there is. Its such a pleasure to be riding it with all of you - I don't know what I would do if I were on my lonesome right now.

Pixel - thank you for your kind words. I'm glad that my posts make you feel like that. I'm going to be calling on all of you wonderful ladies in the coming weeks, because I am just so incredibly nervous about all of this. I've bitten off nearly all my finger nails - literally!

Sh72 - are the Progesterone injections really bad? This is really the only thing I am worried about (aside from a million other things now that I think of it - LOL) Ive heard they can bring on massive lumps! I've only done that once with a clexane injection which I injected way too quick! 16 fertilised eggs is fantastic. Don't lose the faith. Just keep visualising all those little embies dividing and multiplying into big healthy blasts.

Crystal & January - thinking of both of you. Hope that you are both doing okay? Don't stay away for too long eh? xxxx

Pouring lots of baby dust for the ladies in SA this evening.

Rainbowchaser I didn't find the injections as bad as what I thought they would be. I didn't have lumps but definitely some tenderness. I found the clexane injection more painful.

Pixel - the clexane are stingy. I can live with them though if that's as bad as its gonna get?

january - have they done an ultrasound to make sure it's not ectopic - as they can have very slow rising betas also. It's really frustrating once it reaches the point where you know things are not going in the right direction. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks earlier this year and it took nearly three weeks to come away. I felt absolutely miserable but had the closure I needed after that ultrasound confirmed my pregnancy was not to be - that time I also started reading lots of books on IVF as well as some pretty amazing stories about older women who fell pregnant naturally with some diet modifications and acupuncture. Xxx

    Hi Rainbowchaser,

I am so sorry to hear that you went through an early miscarriage, it is the pits.

I have a referral for an ultrasound. My GP is seeking some specialist advice and calling me in the morning. He is really awesome and thorough. He suggested a blighted ovum and possibly ectopic. As I would only be 5 weeks tops he said that an ultrasound may not even show anything at this stage.

This outcome was so not what I was expecting!!! I was only prepared for a flat out positive or negative so am really struggling with how long it is taking to come to an end.

Nevertheless, for some reason I will do it again and am already looking at donor profiles. My DH is trying to get me to relax for a couple of weeks but I just can't at the moment and need a plan forward.

Anyway Rainbow if you would like any advice before you go I am happy to chat, PM me and I will give you my number. Take care and good luck with the planning.

January - Sounds like you are in very good hands. My first ever miscarriage was a very early ectopic and it showed as a small mass in the tubes on an ultrasound. I had to have an injection of
methtroxate to ensure it passed. It did and was all fine - I actually went on to have a successful pregnancy with my daughter 6 months after that (12 years ago)

You sound very similar to me in terms of the way that you deal with things. After my miscarriage earlier this year, I felt a sense huge relief and new hope at being able to start thinking about what my next steps would be in falling pregnant. It really helped me to move on and feel happy and positive again. Great that you are looking for donors - may you find your perfect one this time round

At the end of my journey to Cape Town, if my result is negative, I know that I will continue this search. Because in my heart of hearts I believe that "where there's a will, there's a way" and it's not in my nature to give up - at anything.

I got a response back from the clinic re my AF - they don't seem to be too concerned about it and said that I can get more Lucrin from the clinic when I am in Cape Town if necessary. They said that the bleeding after stopping the pill is a withdrawal bleed but if AF arrives earlier this is fine. Sheesh - how am I going to tell the difference between the withdrawal bleed and my AF??? I'm just terrified that my cycle will be all messed up and that my AF will arrive while in SA and mess everything up!

Thank you so much for your offer to chat with me. You're an absolute sweetheart for offering when you have so much going on in your own life at the moment. I will PM you my details and we can chat in a couple of weeks, you've got enough on your plate right now.

    Good morning Ladies

Sorry I haven't been on, I had the mother of all migraines and yep it was from stopping the Gestone and Estrogen suddenly. I should have tapered them off a little I think, anyway AF is in full swing but its a relief to get things moving and on to a new cycle. I have an appointment with Dr. M the reproductive immunologist on Aug.8th so that will give me a yes or no if my problems are immune related. We can start looking at booking a donor in October which will be here in no time.

January, I'm so sorry things are dragging on for you, I hope the scan gives you an answer so you can start moving forward I've been looking at donors as well I can't book any until October but its nice to have a look, Nurture offered a 30% discount because we have to go back. I'm going to have a look at all the agencies and pick a donor not an agency. I'm really nervous about picking a donor this time

Pixel, ooohhhh your time is coming quick!!! I got big lumps from using Gestone, I also bruised but I agree Clexane does sting more then the other injection. DH insisted on giving me the shot in the bum so maybe he needs to learn a new technique

To all the ladies in Cape Town, GOOD LUCK!!!!!

All the ladies with BFP's congrats!!!

    Hi Girls,

Well it sure is dragging on. More blood tests scheduled again for Tuesday and Thursday next week then Ultrasound the week after if numbers have not dropped. My lovely GP spoke to a FS who said that because they put 2 in the numbers are not clear ie one may have fizzled early and one implanted late. Who the hell knows Talking possibly ectopic at the moment and that injection Rainbow mentioned

Have been throwing myself into moving forward and deciding when, where and how to do our next cycle? There are actually so many options out there it's just a matter of finding one that works for us (time off work and money)

Crystal - so glad you are "back on the horse" so to speak.....I think we just have to throw everything at it until it works, and know that in most cases it will eventually

I too was struck down by a migraine yesterday but I think mine is stress related as I am still on the dreaded hormones until advised that my situation is finally over

To all the lovelies in CT at the moment - may you bring home some beautiful stowaways
