Default OB for delivery at Frances Perry House- Melbourne

    Hi,

I would be very grateful for some advice. I just had my 6 weeks ultrasound and was told that I need to decide on an OB. I have private health insurance and was thinking to go to Frances Perry House (we live in the Western suburbs).

Could anybody please recommend an OB that doesn't charge an arm and a leg?

It would be great if you could either answer here or send me a private message including name of doctor and price. Your help is greatly appreciated! I feel a bit lost with this and don't really know where to start.
    Thank you!!

I had Natalia Khomko - she was lovely! Any of the ladies in that practice were really lovely in fact. There offices are just across from the hospital so super convenient location. The practice is called O&GCG (obs and gyno consulting group). She definitely went above and beyond what I expected - even came in on her day off when I gave birth as it was pretty complicated.
From memory - the once off fee was around $4000? Which about $1500 was refunded from Medicare. The only other out of pocket cost I had was the anaesthetist for an emergency c-sect and the private ultrasound company.

I definitely recommend Mark Umstad but his fee is $6000 due at 20wks....

Peter Jurcevic is also excellent but I don't know what he charges...

Massive Peter Jurcevic fan here - $4,500. Had him for both my births and several friends have now enlisted his services and been very happy too. Hes very pro-natural. You need to book quick though.

Also saw Mark Umstad for an appointment when Peter was on holidays once, he seemed really nice.

I was just wondering how you found Dr Jurcevic? I am considering using him and would appreciate your opinion.

Highly recommend Peter also. We are currently seeing him for number 2 after such a wonderful experience with number 1. Lots of repeats for Peter and he books out fast, I'd be calling ASAP!
