    Default Cost of storage

    We are moving and we need to stay with our in laws for a month or two.
    So we are wanting to put our at least half our stuff into storage.
    We have 4 kids so I'm thinking the largest storage.

    So does anyone know how much this would cost us per month?
    I'm in qld if that makes it cheaper LOL

    It's pretty easy to call or go online and get quotes. When working out how much space you'll need remember you can stack things on top of each other etc (eg. couch on top of dining table, beds on their side/dismantled). If you've ever played tetris, stacking everything like that is the most efficient. Imagine trying to stack everything you have into one room in your house - whatever room you think it will fit in, measure it to work out its volume (m3) to then get a quote for a space that size.

    A lot of the storage websites have a guide for their units - so X number of cubic metres will generally fit a one bedroom apartment full of stuff etc.

    It's not cheap. We are in NSW and found the cheapest place we could. It's out west (30-60 min drive from ours, traffic dependent) and for a small unit maybe 2m by 3.5m it costs us $165 a month and that's with 5% discount for paying 6-12 months upfront instead of month to month.
