Default Ante natal classes Cronulla area

Hi, does anyone know of good (and reasonably priced) ante natal classes near Cronulla? I will be having baby at Sutherland Hospital and know they do classes, but wondered if there are any other options?

    thanks!

I didn't think you had to pay for them??

When I was pregnant, Sutherland Hospital just referred me to anti natal classes in my area (Engadine). I just rang up and put my name down, it didn't cost me anything.

Yes it costs $164 for 8 week course through Sutherland or St George. Maybe I'm being a little tight but it seems expensive and wondered whether I need to go as you get a lot of information from the web, friends etc for free! My husband wants to go to some classes though as he feels unprepared! lol

We went to the anti natal classes at sutherland hospital. Really glad we did, as going to classes at the same place you're going to give birth, gives you a good idea on the way they do things at that particular hospital. That way you know if it fits in or not, with the type of birth you are hoping for

We definitely didn't pay. We did ours at Engadine health clinic. It was 8 weeks, included a hospital tour and reunion after all the babies we're born.

When I had DD there in 2009 you had to pay. I was accepted into the trial for their external midwife clinic at Menai community health centre, their program included the antenatal classes and did not cost any extra.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I might check out re Engadine but Lil M it seems to make sense what you say about doing classes at the hospital you'll be giving birth at. Thanks!

    That was in 2006.
They also did bubs 6 week check up with the clinic nurse and some other follow up appointments. And that was at no charge either.

I should add that while my antenatal appointments were not as the hospital, the actual class and tour were held at Sutherland.

Well I have signed up to classes at Sutherland Hospital even though there is a charge. Seems to make sense to do it at location where will be giving birth. Thanks everyone!
