    Default Non-IVF treatment options

    Hi Guys,
We have been trying to get pregnant since July 2012 and were unsuccessful. In Oct last year I had a D&C and found out that I had an cyst in my ovaries and my doctor fixed the problem and put me on a half a tablet of clomid from day 5 to 9 and I successfully conceived in Jan 2013 cycle and unfortunately miscarriaged at 6 weeks.

Since then we have been trying again and I still have not conceived and in fact my blood test for progesterone last month came back as 11 (previously it was any thing b/w 30 to 60).

Hence my doc increased my tablet to 1 tab daily and I am yet to find out if I'm pregnant (2 more weeks).

My questions in what other options do I have if I'm not successful this month prior to trying ivf? Any doctors that specialize in fertility in Melbourne? Any help would be appreciated please... (Sorry for the lengthy post)

    Hi there,

usually the next stage is IUI which is either used with injections to stimulate or clomid. Then of course if that doesn't work it's IVF.

try Chinese medicine. Accupuncture and traditional herbs are really wonderful and compliment the western medicine treatments.

    good luck!

    Hi there,

So sorry for your loss earlier this year. I was in a similar situation to you where i had done many unsuccessful cycles on clomid. My fs put me onto injections. I had to inject puregon until i ovulated then after my trigger to ovulate i had two pregnyl injections. The pregnyl makes the environment perfect for implantation. One cycle of this gave us our bfp and i am now 6+4.

Some specialists will move straight from clomid to iui but it isn't a necessity.

Sorry i can't help you with specialists in Melbourne. Im in adelaide and was referred to my fs by my gyno.

    Best of luck.
