I know this is an old thread but I am really shocked and horrified to read someone was put on duromine and told by a dr to eat 450 calories a day for 4 weeks! I even take issue with 800 because that's extremely low. Even imo for a heavily obese person 1200 is too low.

What happens with the body on any weight loss program is you plateau around 6 weeks. If you started off your diet at 1800 calories which is doable you will plateau and still have room to move. If you are on 1200 calories, 800, 450... There really isn't much room to move and you are going to damage your metabolism and cause metabolic adaptation. You will find it hard to stick to those calories because your brain is starved of glucose and it will be extremely easy to regain weight when you binge.

I am still just doing the shakes for breakfast and lunch, but I don't have the $$$ to keep doing it unfortunately so once I've finished this lot of shakes ill just track my calorie intake and use my Michelle bridges menu from before

It is expensive isn't it. It's roughly $90 a month to replace 2 meals a day. But I guess you can't eat alot of other stuff so it probably balances out $$ wise.

The dietician at the hospital I went to said that it wasn't a healthy way to lose weight but it works for ppl that have alot to lose. Plus it's short term.
