Question Late ovulation but still conceived?

    Hi Ladies,

It seems as though I ovulated really late this cycle, I had ovulation pains yesterday on CD 35.

Just wondering if any of you have, or know of anyone who has, ovulated late in a cycle and still fallen pregnant?

Just worried that because it's so late in my cycle the luteal phase will be too short or my body won't be in the right state for it to implant.

sorry not sure of anyone myself, but some other ladies on here might know. I suppose the one way to be sure is to test after a couple of weeks, and try not to worry about it in the meantime. Good luck!

    Hi MrsC,
I can't help with the getting pg part (still trying to get that happening for me), but I can say that I had a late ovulation last month, cd 35 (confirmed later on blood test), and then the witch showed on day 46 so 11 days later. I think lots of things can delay ovulation, like stress etc, but that regardless of when you O your luteal phase is still meant to be the same number of days afterwards, so as long as you were baby dancing around your O date you have as good a chance as anyone. Good luck

I agree with hopetown. It doesn't matter what cycle day I ovulated on, AF always arrived 12 days later.

    Yup!

The cycle I conceived as rather strange. I had been charting my temps and thought I had actually stopped ovulating! I O'd on like, cd 38! (my previous cycles were around 30 days with O usually occurring around cd 20-21? I usually had a rather short luteal phase too, around 9-10 days).

My body obviously knew what it was doing, as my DH was away the week I would usually O. I had some work stress that month too, so I think that caused O to be delayed. Was excellent timing, as 2 days after DH got home, I O'ed (of course had got in a few BD sessions just before!).

I think I started taking Vitex and Vit B6 the cycle before the successful one, in effort to try to lengthen my LP? I am not sure if that is what did the trick, or it was just a matter of lots of things going right and mother nature taking over?!

I was 33 at the time (now 34), it was cycle # 7 for us and we got our first BFP. I'm now 33 weeks along and awaiting our baby!
