Default 5 month old frozen breast milk?

Its been frozen for 4.5-5 months. Do you think I could defrost and use it if I have no time to express another feed off? I have to be away from my 5 month old for a couple of hours tonight at late notice. I'm 90% sure he won't need a feed but Murphy's law!

Or should I get a sachet of formula to have on hand instead?

    Thanks ladies

If it's in a deep chest freezer it should be fine but in a fridge freezer I'd probably chuck it.

I thought 3 months was the max? I probably wouldn't use it.

    Yeah that's what I thought.

Not sure which would be better though, slightly old breast milk or formula that he hasn't had before that he may or may not take!

I may just have to do a quick drive home if he wakes and DH can't settle him.

    6 months in a deep freeze. 3 months in a fridge/freezer.
