    I didn't know about Isis 10 years ago.. Maybe 4?? So I highly doubt the mum knew. Feel sorry for mum and daughter

    Same. I can't recall hearing anything about ISIS until maybe 3-4 years ago.

    On a side note, it's the name of the intelligence agency in the cartoon series Archer.

    how long has Isis been around for? like in our media/sphere of awareness? surely not more than 5 years??

    if the kid is over 5 years old then it's not really the mums fault. if she named her kid Isis anytime in the last 3 years then I agree, it seems a little ignorant.

    Except that 2 minutes on Wikipedia tells us that they did not adopt the name ISIS until 2013. Considering that this child was born in 2010, I fail to see how the woman is idiotic. Unless you class a failure to be able to predict the future as stupid. If you're going to call someone an idiot in public, make sure that you've got your facts straight first.
