Out of interest I just searched bh for mentions of Shakayla... Not only has it been mentioned in a handful of threads, one member dropped a letter from it and named her baby girl (who would be & now!) the same thing!!

I actually know a Shakayla! Or is it Shakyla. Plus it's hyphenated with another name. Ergh..

I have a Welsh name, spelt traditionally and I love it. That being said, unlike Huw there's no Anglicised version of the name so to speak so it does make it easier (the English form of it is Jane). I have spelt my name or corrected pronunciation of it, on average, I'd say at least once a day for every day I've been alive (I worked in call centres for 8 years, so LOTS of corrections there to make up for other days I've haven't had to lol!).

I love my name, though and I love my Welsh heritage. So even though I have to spell it or correct the pronunciation a lot, I wouldn't change it for the world. My middle name is another Welsh name that is even harder to pronounce and spell! I love that too since it's my mum's name!

If belly bub is a girl I have a Welsh name picked out for her. I can assure you that it's not Blodwen, though!

Oh and while I'm at it, I cringe every time I see my name misspelt or mispronounced but more commonly than that (since my name isn't overly popular in Australia) I shake my head every time I see "Bronwyn" instead of "Bronwen".

Saw an Xzavier in the birth announcement section of the paper the other day. Oh my hurting brain 😩

Also does anyone else get a bit twitchy when reading Kardashian names? Khloe and Kourtney just make me want to gouge my eyes out with a melon baller!!!
