We recently had a maori family move into the house across the street. My brother goes to school with one of the older boys and his name is Ventura and the first thing i thought of was Ace Ventura.

My least favourite kind of name is where a luxury brand name is used. I personally find it kind of trashy. Where I work there is a family who has kids called Lexxus & Dior. Is your kid an equivalent of a handbag or a car?! Personally my kids are worth more than that to me so I wouldn't "brand" them.

I have taught a female Hunter many moons ago! She suited her name so well.

@Cat74 we must have gone to the same school, I was just about to mention Paige.

@CazHazKidz, possibly. Brisbane is a small place! Poor Paige, she was three/four years younger than me but I always remember having a giggle when her name was called out in assembly.

Wow some of these are atrocious! I dislike made up spellings, like Tyleigh etc, and brand names as a pp mentioned. Mercedes springs to mind!
