    How is Katelijn pronounced?
Have they given a reason why they won't accept it the way it's spelt? How ridiculous.

I just realised asking how it's pronounced may seem so rude! Sorry. I'm genuinely curious.
Not rude at all. That's why I made the "odd names" their middle names. It's pronounced just like Caitlin. They try to spell it Katelyn. It's Dutch, the "ij" makes a "y" sound. My eldest got Wolfgang as his middle name as it's also my fathers middle name and I loved it growing up but wasn't game to give it as a first name and so that's how we started our pattern of giving the foreign names as middle names.

They aren't allowed to just change the spelling of your child's name. Write them a letter telling them they have incorrectly changed it and provide the birth cert again for verification.

The only one that seems odd to me is Kerst, and that's purely because I've never seen it before.

You know, that make sense, the father is Muslim.

    I stand corrected.

Really not a fan of the old traditional names of Arthur, Alfred and Fred (they just don't seem to suit a kid). Absolutely hate Nathaniel, Bartolomew, Malachi/Malaki and there was another but I've forgotten.

I hate girls names such Aaliyah, Taylah and similar. Just all seem boganish to me.

Geez there's some terrible names listed in this thread. Those poor kids lol!
