A friend of mine has 3 daughters...all named Mary! In her defense, she is Filipino and it is quite common for children to have the same first name as children are called by their middle name. Here in Australia it has caused all sorts of issues for the girls (all teens at same school ), one uses Mary and the other two their middle names

I was reading a baby name article once. By a "baby names expert" who had two sons both named William. She had a son, named him William and when he was a few months old she decided he didn't look like a William so started calling him by his middle name. Then her next son came along and she felt sad about not getting to use William properly so called him that also. I thought it was a bit funny that a self proclaimed expert had so much trouble naming her own children.

At my school we have a Konar (Connor). New staff always pronounce it like it's spelled. Poor kid.

Eww, yes it reads Ko-nar to rhyme with sonar !
Why can't people leave traditional spelling alone !!

Wow! What an offensive thread. There's a lot of names I don't like, but I'm not saying "oh that's so horrible." You need to remember there might be people on here who've named their children some of these!

It's all in good fun! It's not all bad; some names people thought were horrible have been explained as traditional in a certain ethnicity / language.

    cool your engines!

of course this thread is bound to offend a few people but I think everyone realises it's in jest? it's a bit of fun.

my ds has an unusual/uncommon name that I'm sure is not everyone's cuppa but that's ok. I don't get offended. I just think how pedestrian they must be to not appreciate such a nice strong biblical boys name 😂😏😘
