I thought Ayla and Isla were both legit spellings for Eye-la - I mean neither of them make sense phonetically but one is more well known I suppose.
I remember when Isla whatsherface was on Home and Away a million years ago and I thought it was pronounced Is-la

Maybe! I've only seen Isla but likely wrong. I grew up overseas... ☺️

Ayla is the Turkish spelling/version of Isla.
A Turkish friend named her daughter that, and she is beautiful.

I've known two Aylas. Both pronounced how it's spelled Ay-lah.
I also knew one online but assumed she pronounced it the same so never thought to ask.

I just read that George Foreman has five sons - all called George Edward Foreman. He also has a daughter named Georgetta!

I actually really like the name George, and I even have a DS with the same first name as his father - but calling all five children the exact same name including middle name? What da hell
