    Default Pre-natal depression???

Is there such a thing as Pre-natal depression? I'm 26 weeks pregnant and for the past few weeks (much worse in the last few days) I feel very agitated, depressed, down, anxious, lazy and heavy on the chest. I'm imagining scenarios before anything has even happened and worry about things that haven't happened yet, or probably won't even happen.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I just thought I'd further mention I am very happy about having this child and don't feel detached or unhappy about the pregnancy at all.

Yes. I wasn't 'officially' diagnosed as depressed but I didn't accept for a long time (basically till labour) that I'd bring home a baby. No reason for it but I didnt buy anything for the baby...lost it at DH who painted the spare room into a nursery whilst I was at work.
That was 4 years ago and I did the same thing last year when preg with #2. Both kids perfectly fine.

I put it down to the pressure and worry I put on myself of "if anything goes wrong it's my fault".
Once baby arrives I go back to normal..well sort of normal - less neurotic

    Yes, it's called antenatal depression.

Please see your GP about it and get referred to a psychologist. It's important that you speak with someone about how you are feeling x
