I've had one. It was so bad. It did hurt a little - I had period type cramps while the dye was flushed through, but otherwise it was okay. Take a couple of nurofen beforehand to help you out

    Good luck!

It did hurt when the dr blew the balloon up then the dye went in. I was also given an injection of buzcapan (sp?) which is a muscle relaxant. I was told the muscles in the ovaries can tense up which can give a false result that your tubes are blocked. It was all over in about 10-15 mins though. I spotted for about 48 hours which is normal.

I had a twilight anaesthetic for mine so no discomfort at all. Was a tiny bit achy for a couple of hours after but not bad enough to require any panadol

    Hi,

I've been trying to conceive for the last 18months, but it's been quite difficult because my husband travels a lot. Just wondering what others have experienced when trying to fall pregnant. How frequent were you each cycle?

I'm also getting the hycosy test done in week, so i'm hoping that will increase our chances of falling pregnant.

It would be great if I could get some feedback.

    thanks in advance!!

    Hi Centrino,
We're in the same boat! DH travels with work & I'm having Hycosy done in about a week. It's difficult, we try to do it every second day when he's here.
    Good luck!

Ok well for future readers, I had the Hycosy. It was uncomfortable, and hurt quite a bit when they blew up the balloon catheter inside, but then settled.
But overall, it was not dreadful. It helps if you have someone's hand to hold if you're anything like me!

I had the test done a few days ago and had my best friend to hold my hand. I didnt like the feeling at all so I was crying the whole way through lol but it was so quick and over before I knew it.
