    Default LIT with Dr Matthias

    Hi ladies,

Just wondering if any of you have had LIT with Dr. Matthias and what the process involved.

I am a newbie here and have had 3 miscarriages.. just had the last one a couple of weeks back so still feeling devastated about it.. and just looking at my options.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi OP,
    Welcome to HB.
There is a whole thread dedicated to Dr Matthias protocols in the Reproductive Immunology section..in the Natural Killer cells forum. I am sure one of the lovely ladies on there will be able to answer your questions.
I don't know how to link the thread to my post so sorry about that. Good luck and best wishes

    Hi MyPreciousBaby,

My DH have been advised to do LIT by Dr M, but the process takes 4-6 weeks which interferes a bit while trying to do a cycle. I am keen to find someone who has had this procedure done too, but yet to find anyone.

In order to proceed with it, your DH needs to be screened for HIV and Hepatitis, plus his blood type.

From what I understand, the lab will take DH's blood in the morning, develop the serum over the day and you return to the suite/hospital for the injections on the same day in the afternoon. A follow up round is then required 2-4 weeks later.

Please keep us posted if you go down this path

    Lots of luck,
    Lite

    Hi Ladies,
I had LIT with Dr M this week. It is exactly as you described it Lite. Cost $1100. Dr M agreed to do it 3 weeks apart but usually requires 4 week interval between treatments.
My husband had 6 vials of blood drawn and then I attended Bankstown office in the afternoon to have the white blood serum injected into my forearms. I was shocked how much it hurt. But my girlfriend also had it recently and she didn't report much pain. So maybe I am just a sook! Lots of redness and swelling immediately and now 4 days later still very red and itchy.
If you are in Melbourne may I ask which FS you are seeing - is it Nick Lolgatis at Monash. I am thinking of changing specialist and heard that he is immune friendly and does IVIG and also neupogen which I need.
By the way, my immune treatment is being coordinated by Karen Pace at Conceivable Solutions. Check her out if you want a second opinion. She is BRILLIANT I just wish I had found her years ago.
    Wishing you all well.
    FG

    Hi Ladies,

I also had LIT treatment last week with Dr. M. - I'm the one that found it didn't hurt. It was just like little bee stings and then I had redness and alot of swelling for a couple of days. Then two BIG bruises on my arms. Definitely not very itchy for me but occasionally I would find myself scratching on the incision marks.

Hi Ladies, can I ask what LIT is and why you do it? I have an appointment with Dr M in Jan so just trying to work out what I need to ask about!

LIT is if your LADs are low - mine were low after many chemical pregnancies. The LIT bought the numbers up and fortunately for me has also really calmed down my immune system - my NK is back in normal range and my TNF is just above normal.

Dr M will test you LADs when you do the Chicago blood tests that Dr M will prescribe for you. You will know more when you get back your results.

I get my bloods tested in the US now through Dr Karen Pace at Conceivable Solutions and Dr M has been very good in working with her recommendations. I start my cycle in a few days using the Karen protocol - wish me luck.

    And good luck to you.

Thanks Ladies, it's certainly all very interesting, if a little painful

I am busy reading up, wondering if I'm clutching at straws to find a reason why I just can't seem to conceive (not even a chemical or a mc). I was able to conceive once 20 years ago but haven't been able to since. My FS doesn't really believe in autoimmune issues and NK cells, but I figured I really have nothing to lose but time in doing the tests with Dr M.

It's so hard having 'unexplained infertility' (other than I'm old) - I kinda want to know something is wrong so it can be fixed!

FestivalGirl and Helenmac I feel like I know both of you already! I'm up to page 80 of the NK Cells Thread number 1 - I've a long way to go to catch up to current day tho!
