I had DD at NSP. It was lovely.

I've heard of Gil Burton. Apparently he is fantastic.

I'm really indecisive but I went to do my research today and the Mater Maternity website was down - I'm taking that as a sign!!!

I also like that NSP is near the station so hubby can just jump on a train to come visit rather than spending a fortune on parking!

They give you a week parking ticket for like $11. So partners can come all week for next to nothing.

    Bumpity bump!

My husband and I have almost chosen our OB -
Most Likely....Dr Keith Hartman.... but we need to decide on which hospital!

What are your ladies thoughts or experiences on The Mater or North Shore Private? We would really love to hear all about it!!!

Mater- looks a bit dated, much smaller rooms, 3 nights stay for standard delivery, midwives meant to be amazing, gets glowing reviews, very homey feel and well known.

NSP - Modern, New, 4 night stay for standard delivery, Parking easy,
What about the staff & nurses? Not sure, meant to be good, do they use more agency nurses than Mater?

What does everyone think re these 2 hospitals/OB.
Happy for private messages on your experience.

    Thanks

I delivered at RNSPH. I was deciding between that and The Mater as well.
The only thing that made me chose RNSPH was that the RNSH hospital had a NICU.
I figured if there were any problems it was closer to get bubby to RNSH from next door, rather than wait for an ambulance at The Mater like a friend of mine had to.
Otherwise they were much of a muchness I think.
