Welcome to everyone just joining I hope we can all be a great support to each other.
So sorry to hear some of the sad stories. Lets hope this is the cycle for everyone.

Bedlover I don't know what advice to give re the POAS. I'm going to try and stay strong and stay away from doing it but I'm really superstitious and that's just my thing. If you feel like doing it I don't see why you shouldn't. Make sure you let us know what you decide and fingers crossed.
We are so close to Friday now thankfully.

AFM I'm not feeling anything at all. Had to go to dinner tonight and people were trying to get me to drink which was awkward. We have a big work thing on Friday night too so I guess depending on my results I'll either have a big night out or have to come up with an excuse to get out of it.

Hope everyone else is doing ok

Cappy - the excuse I use is 'I'm so hungover from last night, I couldn't possibly touch a drop of alcohol!'. I make up some fake surprise house guest who dropped by for a hilarious boozy night :-) works like a charm!!

So I just had my scan - CD9. Only one decent follicle 14mm. The others are 5mm, so they'll give them a few more days, but I've been here 5 times before, I know they won't grow in time. So it will be an epu for one follicle, possibly Monday. And I have to hope that one follicle contains a mature egg, and that it fertilises, and grows, and implants. We all know the chances of that. I'm devastated. Looks like egg donation for me.

I've woken up with AF. One day before my bt. I've stopped the progesterone and I'm calling my clinic today. Devastated.

Vixjc- when I had poor response, they up my pure hon. Any chance they could do that??? You'll never know, the eggies may grow a bit faster???

Jodes, I'm so sorry sweetheart!!! It's such a shock isn't it? But don't lose hope, plan for the next cycle. What can the FS do different? Or it may not even be anything requires changing? Day 5 instead of day 3 or vice versa? Hysterscopy? That helped me. What about clexane to help withh implantation? Just talk to them? Xxxx

Sorry to hear Jodes a BFN is devastating sending you a big hug.

Vixjc what stimms are you on ?? On my last cycle I was changed to menapour to due constantly crappy results ect. And the change was like night and day, good egg numbers and high fert rates too. Hope they can try something different for you.

Thanks Frenchy and Frances, this cycle was menapur, human growth hormone, melatonin, synarel, and thyroxine. Previous cycles have included the maximum doses of Gonal F, Puregon and Elonva. My FS, who I was referred to by an IVF nurse, said that if this cycle doesn't work to produce enough follicles, then there are no more options and this is the way my results will always be, I'm a "poor responder". I had read a scientific article online that said with poor responders, you really needed to consider whether putting the patient through ivf was worthwhile at all given their prospects of success were so incredibly low - so I asked the FS about it because he's so direct and honest and also quite progressive with treatment. I expected (wanted) him to say "Pfft, they're exaggerating, there are options!". But he said "yes, that's right". So I can keep putting myself through this cycle after cycle after cycle, keep trying to juggle my very unsympathetic job, keep throwing thousands of dollars at this each time (that human growth hormone ain't cheap!), and hope that eventually I'll get another freak cycle that produces an embryo like I did in December 2012. Or I can acknowledge that might never happen, and the most realistic option is donation. Letting go of the idea of having a child that is the product of me and my gorgeous husband, just takes my breath away. I am my family's only hope for a grandchild, and now it won't be our genetic line. I know I shouldn't, but I feel like such a failure. Here's hoping my one follicle beats the odds . And if not, maybe with a donor, my child will have a chance at curly hair

Oh Vix I am so sorry. Sending loads of positive vibes to that one follie! Xx

Hate to put a dampener on the 2nd Aug testing group but I did POAS this morning and bfn!

Oh well - I know this is a long process and even a BFP doesn't mean you get to take home a baby. So I had a full strength latte (have been on the decaf - yuk), dusted myself off and am thinking about our next cycle.

    Bring on the stims!!

Vixjc, I just looked at your signature through the website (I have been using the iPhone app to post) and saw that you had a BFP, only for it to be ectopic. So I now know what you were saying in ur post. That must have been gut wrenching hard for you to go through, yet you came back and continued on. A friend of mine, nearing her 40s, had been to 2 different clinics, tried for 5ys....nothing. She then changed back to the first clinic, and it worked. Then she did a FET, it worked again. 2 beautiful boys now, it's a miracle.

I'm hoping that this one egg you have is a freaking fantastic one! And with ICSI, it's got the best possible chance of fertilizing. I hope it's the one egg that will give you that miracle.

And if it doesn't, then if donor egg is the only way forward, there is so much to keep urself busy with. Research on costs, is Aussie the best way to go? ( don't we have a shortage???)

But please try not to think at all about ur loss. You're not a failure....I thought the same thing when I lost my two ectopics, as if something was wrong with me. Feel those feelings(because let's face it, we're devastated and we're searching for answers), cry but then look FORWARD. I have no idea what kind of emotions you're going through, we all want our own biological children, but if you have tried all you can, and donor is the only way, think about what you will feel when you hold that baby. Nothing else matters.... Good luck with that follicle, lets not forget about that one yet!

Bedlover- I'm so sorry sweetie....but it's another 2 days before beta day isn't it??? Try again tomorrow and if its still BFN, try again on Thursday.

You haven't got AF yet, so nothing is definite!!!!

I remember when I POAS with my DS's cycle, it was a BFN on 8dp5dt, faint BFP on 9dp5dt and my beta at 11dp5dt was 774!

But you sound like me, I try to get over setbacks by looking forward to the next round. Lets hope you're just too early....
