Default Spotting mid cycle - worried!

I am worrying myself crazy right now! I am currently on cycle day 19 & I have 37-38 day cycles. I usually ovulate on day 23 or 24.

All day today I have been getting spotting, its brown/reddish in colour and enough that I have to wear a liner. I have NEVER had mid cycle spotting before, or any spotting at all. It started off just as light pink when I wiped but as the day has gone on it is now brown/reddish and I need to wear a liner! Im tracking every day of my cycle so I know I havent ovulated yet. Ive read that u can sometimes get ovulation spotting but ive never had it before so im worried what it could be & why I would get it now when I never have before? Apart from my longish cycles I never have any problems with AF.

I had a miscarriage early april and I have had 2 periods since. The next one will be my third.

As I should ovulate about 5 days from now, we are TTC. so can we still 'try' if im bleeding?? I dont like the idea of doing it if I am bleeding/spotting slightly but also dont want to risk not doing it before ovulation. Thats if its nothing to worry about, but I am worried there could be something else as a reason for the bleeding?

I dont have any cramps and no other symptoms at all.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Let me know what ur specialist says, ive booked in to see mine but the appointment isnt for 3 weeks! Had spotting all day today as well. Is your spotting mid cycle as well? Has anyone else had anything similar to this?

I've had this twice this year. Around day 16-18 of a 28 day cycle.
I've mentioned it to my fertility specialist and he didn't say it was anything serious. I think it can be one of those things if it doesn't happen very often.

I've read it can be a hormone imbalance, a small ovarian cyst popping, cancer, ovulation, implantation...!

I suppose it's different for everyone. Best you get a check up if it happens again.

Saw my specialist who has given me a list of tests to have, including a HYCOSY ultrasound with saline flushed up inside to check for blockages etc.

    hopefully it's ok....good luck!

What other tests r u getting done?

Is ur mid cycle spotting very heavy or only light?

When I had it it was bright pink blood I noticed when using the bathroom. Not enough to need to use any protection. It was gone by the next day.

I had it once years ago, went to the GP who sent me for an ultrasound and referred to an OB/GYN.
There was nothing wrong with the scan and the OBGYN said sometimes it just happens and not to worry unless its ongoing.
I'd try and relax until you see the specialist and carry on with ttc in the meantime.
