    There are probably some boundary issues the daughter will eventually deal with ... but I actually think its really sweet.

    I agree, but just because the mum does the things listed for her daughter, it doesn't mean the daughter is a) incapable of doing them herself, and b) unable to do other things like those you've mentioned. If she were incapable then yes, the mum probably does need to help her by stepping back a bit more.
