Perhaps not degrading as such, but just as vulgar and as sexually suggestive as all the other music out there.

Rihanna sings about how chains and whips excite her and masturbates on stage, Katy Perry wants to see your pea****** and kiss girls, Gaga wants to ride your disco stick and Pink has an entire song about men going home to masturbate when they can't pick up women. It's hardly girl power.

I can't place what the song is, but I just read some of the lyrics. Heck. What tha? I am raising 4 boys, I hate to think that this is the crap that is around, that they will end up thinking that it is normal to treat women like crap. It is awful!!

I loooovvvveeee some hiphop - Aussie hiphop is awesome, because the good ones rap about politics and stuff, not B**ches and h**s. yuck!

Listen to triple j. Real bands that play real music. I won't say that there are no vulgar or offensive songs on there because there are but they're generally better songs

Well, if you really want to nitpick... This is Pink's song True Love.

    "You're an ******* but I love you
And you make me so mad I ask myself
Why i'm still here, or where could I go
You're the only love i've ever known
    But I hate you
I really hate you, so much
I think it must be true love."

I listened to a lot of crappy music with crappy lyrics growing up, still do. I've certainly turned out okay. I don't see anything wrong with singing about sex (Rihanna - S&M, Katy Perry, etc). There's nothing about sex that we should be afraid of. If we make women feel ashamed and guilty for singing about it, or say it's degrading, then how are we meant to feel comfortable in ourselves sexually?

I just don't see the woman power in telling someone to go home and f*** themselves.

But whatever, you listen to your music and I'll listen to my music.

Sorry if you thought I was "nitpicking", I was genuinely interested as I couldn't think of any myself!

That sounds like sexual adult to me!

I agree, so did I!! It's not the sex Im concerned about its the fact that it's acceptable to sing about women in such a degrading way. I think people want to hear these songs (for some reason!) but there is a time and place for them and it's not at 7am, it's not on the Today show or on the Voice. Unfortunately some young impressionable boys/men may think it's ok to talk like this about women. I just think it's an ugly culture.

“I know you want it” and “But you’re a good girl, The way you grab me, Must wanna get nasty, Go ahead, get at me
