That pink song reminds me of the quote that's along the lines of 'love means not finding the perfect one, but looking past the imperfections of someone' That's my interpretation of her lyrics.

Sassy - love that song but I hated his hair back then. He looks much hotter now I think.

And to the person who quoted me pages back - I wasn't trying to prove a point, I was meaning that my daughter only reacts to certain parts of the song so it's innocent to her. Hence why I said perspective. And I'm not raising my children to never dance/live etc in fear of some pervert. It's not like she's up pole dancing... Although she certainly loves table top dancing.

It reminds me of my ex who was controlling and abusing so I guess that's why I have a negative interpretation. But then songs are made for each listener to have there own interpretation I reckon.

And I hated the blurred lines song even before I read this thread and the lyrics

I guess my point is proven by answers like this, there are always ways to justify what a man says! What if he did mean it? Wouldn't it be more respectful to apologise to anyone who took offense rather than that confirm that it's dirogitory? It doesn't make him very appealing if he is being sarcastic about treating women with disrespect.
Can you confirm who is referring to Wikipedia? I didn't realise anyone was!

The quote from Robin Thicke was from a QC magazine interview, not wikileaks.

I love how people are defending this song as not being sexist and derogatory - even though he himself says it is and was done on purpose. No one is saying that people shouldn't like the song - but it is degrading and it was suppose to be - so own it.

Hi Beebs....do you have a link to the QC article? I never much paid attention to the song...just thought it was some boppy one hit wonder tune and we will never hear of Robin Thicke again after a couple of weeks (as I have never heard of him before).

When reading the lyrics I had just assumed it was about a good girl wanting to be bad but now I am curious that as he is saying that it WAS meant to be derogatory I would like to understand his reasons for doing so IYKWIM.

Okay.....just found the magazine article. So...apparently he was being sarcastic. Its great that him and his collaborators out there think so but there is probably quite a few people that haven't 'got the joke'.

Trying to prove what? Sexism? It is clearly sexist. No one here has said it is about rape though. I don't think it is about that.

I took it us that even though sometimes we can't stand the sight of our partners and could very easily walk out the door we don't because we are also madly in love. My husband drives me to the point of sheer frustration where I want to bang his head against the wall screaming "why are you so stupid sometimes" and walk away but I don't because of how much I love him and I think P!NK is voicing the same there.
