    Default Baby bonus

    Is there anyway I can apply to receive the baby bonus in one lump sum? Being our 4th child and also unplanned we need a bigger car and really need to use the baby bonus towards it.

    unfortunately they don't do this anymore for anybody. Its given in fortnightly instalments over the year.

    That sucks :-( I was hoping there was some way to apply for it all at once when it's a circumstance where it's needed.

    yeah they stopped doing the lump sum after the first year they introduced baby bonus.. and they have also lowered it as well, it's no longer $5000.

    You can get in a lump sum if you have a still born I'm pretty sure

    Maybe talk to a social worker at centerlink and explain the situation?? They might be able to give you a hand or point you in the right direction of someone who can help?
