Why do tertiary students get nothing, there is such an injustice in that lack of government support for university. It really irks the hell out of me, primary and secondary school are free for Gods Sake!

There is a lot of people who get nothing , I have 2 primary school aged children and don't get any bonuses yet I work my butt off and pay heaps of tax and I don't get help with child care either. I don't even get help if I want to study which I want to do but I cannot afford daycare and not being at work while I am learning.

The schooling its self may be free. But I have two children in pre primary who need new uniforms/hats/shoes/books/underwear/socks because they are growing so damn fast and quite frankly its difficult to afford all at once. these payments help. its for families. I assume that once someone is in uni theyre an adult. Thats why they dont get these payments

In high school my mum and dad struggled paying school fees not to mention books and uniforms for 4 kids. Crazyyyyy.

Btw I don't even get this my kids aren't in school I was just sticky beaking and thought id reply to primary and secondary schooling being free!

Is this bonus means tested? My dd is prep this year & we haven't been advised of anything I haven't even heard of it.

School free? My dd goes to a public school & her compulsory school jumper cost me $55 for a size 6! Just one example, let alone her book list & scheme fees.

Yes public schooling is meant to be free but it isn't. I know in high school our whole year got pulled into a meeting to be told off because our parents hadn't paid our fees and we were all taking it as a joke to see who had the most owning, the teachers didn't think it was funny apparently. I now they threatened that we wouldn't be able to do certain things if we didn't pay them. I don't think there is such thing as a free school anymore.

School fees for public schools in WA is voluntary , they still send a bill but they cannot make you pay or contact you to pay it. The costs for excursions and other activities are compulsory if you child wants to participate.
