I'm on rest and will be scanned every two weeks. If it is shirking they will stitch but for now just resting as OB doesn't want the risks involved with stitching.

I'm 28 weeks and still resting! Pretty confident that I'll make it to 30 weeks as long as I'm horizontal and not contracting. Still crossing my toes and fingers for you too.

Autumn my doc didn't want to stitch me either cause of the risks but I was very close to 24 weeks as well so strict bedrest is where I'm at.

Had my appointment last Friday a d my cervix has shrunk again. It's only 1 cm. spent all day at the hospital. Saw many specialists and also the managing director OB dr - he came to see me and checked me etc. they will not try to stitch as its too risky to baby and me . We saw a neonatal specialist dr who talked to us about risks and survival rates and also took us through the micro babies ward and through the special care units and prem babies ward.

We are to prepare for a prem baby and need to be prepared to make the very hard decisions if necessary.
I have to go in on Tuesday and be checked and see the OB. On Friday -24 week mark - they will start giving me steroid injections to strengthen the baby. I have progesterone pessaries to also help. Baby is 550g and healthy which is a bonus. The goal is to get to end of next week and then every day after that is a bonus. I am to rest as much as possible to keep pressure off my cervix.

Autumn how many weeks are you now? I was 9mm at 24wks when I was admitted and I am now 30wks+3. Keep off your feet as much as possible except for going to the toilet and showers. Cause I believe you can hang in there!! I can't remember if they've put you on progesterone pessaries?

    i am currently 23 + 4, I have the pessaries.

Thats great that you over the 30 week mark I was a 30 weeker and that was a long while ago and i have no long term problems

When they admitted you what was the reasons? it is simply because the cervix was too short? i have been having a lot of pressure pain in my lower groin and also pains in my vagina which i will tell my ob tomorrow.
At the moment just trying to find things to do while laying down all the time.

    Im now 31+3 today :-)
I went to 20wk scan & sent to maternity ward from there, cervix was 1.2, was told wed be lucky to make 28wks let alone 24wk viability.
Week later was 0.8mm when my doc suggested cerlage stitch. Risky but his preferred option so had that next day. Ive been 0.4mm since. No pressaries just bedrest at home & fortnightly scans till wk 28.
Based on very lil info & some graph I read at hospy based on cervix length anything under 1cm states you may make 32wks but thats about it - but hey Im 32wks this Sat so will see...
My cervix is basically just a stump (short cervix), which is because of 3 prior biopsys for cervical cancer which were cut out.
I have appt today, but after you hit 30wks its mainly just general pregnancy tests now. My midwife & doc in the fetal medicine unit are now joking I may go full term & if thats the case Ill have stitch cut out at 36wk mark!
Rest, Rest, Rest - get some craft or knitting stuff, join a competions site on yr laptop - just stay the hell in bed ok ;-)

*Try not to google too much as it can depress you. Checking to see survival rates of premmies each week mark u make is not helpful!
*Try not to shop online too much as it can cause yr partner to have a hissy fit.
*Try to stay positive (its hard)
*Ask for help as noone really understands u literally should not be out of bed (at all).
*Explain to yr partner even kissing may turn u on & u cannot afford even a tingle of stimulation down there.
*Accept help if friends r understanding & want to provide cooked freezer meals, or do yr laundry let them.
*If yr house is a pigsty - fk it, u have a more important job at the moment & laying legs up is it!

Thats all Ive got for now hun, hopefully you make it as far as we both have. Keep us updated :-)

Still hanging on as well at 34+4 with pretty much no length. Been like this for a few weeks now. I was 3mm for ages as well. Hang in there!
