I gave a samsung tablet to my 6yr old a few weeks ago foe his birthday. I am kind of disappointed in it with the fact that he cant use the reading eggs program on it as the adobe or whatever it is wont download properly otherwise he really likes it and no complaints. I went with android as we are both familiar with it unlike apple products where i had no idea what to do. Plus the price differencd was good too. I paid $286 i think for a 10inch screen(same size as ipad)

I'm happy enough with the iPod Touch along with the Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy phone. Although we don't have it all set up as yet, when we move we'll also have an Apple Mac desktop computer along with the Toshiba laptop. It's there, but not accessible at the moment. I actually do prefer using the Toshiba laptop although the Apple Mac has a bigger screen and is iTunes compatible. I do feel we have the best of both worlds. However, if I had to choose, I'm not an Apple fan.

My Note 10.1 is not the phone version. It's the tablet type, same size as the iPad.

I do have the Galaxy S2 phone though, I love that too.

You need a dvd converter program, on your laptop or PC. I use Tipard Blu-Ray Converter (it's called blu-ray but does normal dvd's too). It costs about $40-$60 to buy the full version. Tipard can convert any file to any file to suit any device (inc play station, xbox, samsung tablets etc...).
Insert your dvd, upload it to Tipard, choose what function you want, Tipard does the rest.
Whatever movie you want, convert it to an mp4 file.
Then just copy it to an SD card, pop that in the SD card slot in the tablet (iPad's don't have SD card slots, the Galaxy tab does).
In the apps, there is a standard pre installed app Play Movies.
You can access your SD card in that app, select the movie, press play.
    Easy peesy

I had an iPhone 4 and constantly whinged at my hubby that his Samsung galaxy s1 was crap.

    I desperately wanted an ipad!!

Until I got the Samsung galaxy s3. Omg. Touching my iPhone 4 is so horrible I'd never go back. It's slow, has such a small screen and just no.

I since brought the tab 2 10.1 when it came out. Love it.

I'd never touch another apple product ever.

Samsung or Asus. We have just bought an Asus tablet for our son's 4th birthday next week.

    Don't buy Apple!
