Having used both, iPad hands down. I teach elderly people to use computers and would never recommend a Samsung but that's just me! My toddler regularly uses my iPad and has great programs.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I'm leaning towards the Samsung galaxy tablet. I like the fact that you have the option to expand the memory with an SD card and that it can use flash player for websites that DD1 will use for school.

    Thanks again! :-)

I love my Galaxy Note 10.1

    It's so easy to navigate.
    Apps are 99% free.
    No iTunes accounts needed.
    Very kid friendly.
Adobe compatible, flash compatible, will take an extra SD card to get more space/memory, convert movies to mp4 and they can watch them on the Galaxy etc......I rate the Galaxy highly.

There is an app you can download called kids place.
You move all of your kids apps and games in there. Then once they access kids place, they can't exit out until you physically enter a password.
Which means there is no way they can accidentally access the internet or youtube, or the app store

We have an iPad. My mum recently bought the Samsung galaxy tab and said she wishes she had bought the iPad instead.

I don't like Samsung phone/tablet products so would only ever buy apple. I love our ipad and think its sooo much easier to use, especially for little kids.
