Default iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tablet?????

I want to get my DD's some sort of tablet for Christmas this year, but I'm not sure which one to get!!!

What do you like about your iPad or galaxy tab? Would really love to hear other people's opinions :-)

I like that my galaxy isn't monopolised (is that a word) by one program and can download any app or music. How old are your girls? My nieces have a cheapo one from kmart that runs on android and can do almost everything my galaxy can.

I have the galaxy note 10.1 and love it. I'd work out what sort of apps you're wanting and then look at the two differnt app stores but t8 behonest there is very llittle that isn't covered by both.

For kids I think the galaxy/android is better.
I have both, and there are way more free apps in the google store and android is cheaper, so if accidentally broken its not $500+ dollars destroyed.

The galaxy tab is smaller too, so easier for little hands.

DD2 (4years) has an ipad mini ... Perfect for little hands. I prefer android but found the ipads better for educational apps for both her and my six year old. Also DS uses educational apps on ipads at school so I can keep the consistency with the same system at home.

DD has an iPad and it's been great. Not only in terms of apps and movies, but it's been indestructible.

We have bought dd a galaxy for her birthday.
Its easier in terms of not needing to use itunes to sync.
Thw apps are on par and it has an expandable memory.
Means we can put some movies or download movies to it and use a micro sd to store them bot use all the built in memory.
