Maybee: condolences on the loss of your nanna. Glad Ava is sleeping well.

MsFaery: good luck getting Charlie to latch. Expressing is exhausting and only my own stubbornness keeps me going. Yay for having your house back.

Choccie: wow 21 weeks has flown. Sorry Axle is such a difficult baby, that must be hard. That frame is adorable!

River is super clingy at the moment, can't put her down or get anyone else (even dp) to hold her or she screams. Makes doing chores and expressing hard. Hope this changes before our Melb trip on Tuesday.

    Maybe, sorry about your Nanna

Toni, I hope River is less clingy soon. You've done so well to continuing expressing.

Hey ladies, what would be considered normal amount of EBM to bottle feed a 4 week old per feed?

Depends on the baby. The formula they use is 150mls per kilo in a 24hr period. How much is she eating?

I only feed her the EBM at night and she drinks between 110-120ml at each feed (2 night feeds)
She still doesn't feed for long on the breast during the day and therefore only sleeps 1.5 hour max at a time. So thought about feeding her boob, but then when she naps at the boob, expressing and feeding the rest via boob. I dunno!
Going to go to the health clinic to see if they have any more ideas

I was always told to express after trying from the boob but River never attached. I think that's a good amount of EBM. I try and give river enough so she leaves a little in the bottle that way I know she is full

Thanks Toni - some times she guts down 150ml, but the last few mornings it has only been around 100 ml.
I know she is getting plenty, but during the day, doesn't seem to be enough to make her sleep a long time.
In saying that - she has just slept : hours laying on DH!!!
