How is River's tummy going atm after the dietary changes you made a while back?

Maybee- thanks for the tip that your MCHN gave you. I did think it could be the let down slowing. Mine is very quick to start with, which means Meadow often chokes a bit and breaks off coughing! Let down is also painful for me and I'm always relieved when it eases off after the first toe curling minute! She could well be getting frustrated when it slows and I will try switching sides. Its either that or wind!
Yes I too have very quick and painful letdown to begin with. Ava sometimes coughs and chokes a bit to begin with. Does Meadow use her fists to push on the breast as well? Apparently this is them trying to stimulate/encourage another let down so I was told not to stop her doing it.

Question for anyone BFing, does your bub get figity towards the end of a feed? Meadow will start to wriggle, tug at my nipple, go on and off the breast a lot, go a bit red and look unsettled. Winding doesn't seem to help much, not sure what it is! Maybe she's getting frustrated the milk is coming slower by that stage? I've got plenty there to my knowledge and usually feed from both sides.
Sienna does this, but my milk supply is crap, so I put it down to my milk running low on that side, I tend to switch once she starts fussing.

We had DHs dad and stepmum here for the weekend. It was a pretty good weekend, but I got frustrated with having to go to my bedroom to BF. also, as predicted, I got comments about how much she feeds in the evening. Stepmum would take her and be trying to get her to settle with a dummy. I knew all she wanted was more milk. I've got 2 weeks before DHs mum arrives, so need to try to get my milk supply up before then, then i won't have to worry about how many bottles she has. Tomorrow I have an exam, then my milk supply can become my focus.

Hi Ladies - just popping in to say a quick Hi! I have been MIA but all for good reason, have been to hell and back with Axle, trips to the hospital, pediatrician visits, tests, ultra sounds and I've also spent lots of days crying as well! Reflux when it's bad is like the devil !
Anyways I will jump on the pc tomorrow and write the full story!

Welcome to the newbies, cute looking kiddies in this thread!!

Smurfy That would be so frustrating for your partners stepmum to do that. I hope the visit with MiL goes ok. Are you taking motilium and fenugreek for your supply?

Choccie that doesn't sound good. I hope Axle is ok.

River and I are on our own again until Friday afternoon. I forsee a lot of time in the bedroom which is the easiest place to express and settle her at the same time

Toni too bad your alone till Friday

Smurfy your step mother in law sounds like a lovely piece of work!dont think about others it's just between you and bub nothing else matters specially outsiders opinions!!

Choccie I hope everything is ok with axle!

Afm nothing really new to report but I'm starting to worry about the lack of aunt flow!! I bled after the twins were born for 4 week (never got really heavy) then only spotting on and off till 6 wks and since then I had one day of very light bleeding and brown spotting its been 11 wks you would think the body would be settling by now specially since I am breast feeding anymore!

Toni- Hope the time alone passes quickly for you! Sounds like staying in the bedroom is a good plan, whatever makes it easiest is always the best option. Plus then the rest of the house stays tidy!

Choccie- so sorry to hear Axle is suffering bad reflux. It must be incredibly stressful and tiring for you, and horrid to see him in pain. Hope the doctors have been able to help.

Smurfy- I was reading that a great way to increase supply is to spend 24hrs in bed with your baby, you wearing just undies and Sienna in only her nappy. Lots of skin to skin and time just to relax and focus on feeding. Other people can bring you meals and anything else you need. Its meant to work a treat so might be worth considering when your exam is over. If you're expressing a lot then increasing the time spent at the breast should really help.

    Hi everyone else!

Afm, we've been insanely busy dealing with a crap tenant in our investment property but hopefully it gets easier from here on.
Vale is finally 6kg's!! Hoorayyyy! Got rid of her 000 clothes and she is mostly in 00's now. She's so amazing! She's really vocal. Like will have full blown conversations with you for up to 5 mins. Obviously she's not saying words but the sounds are so cool and so expressive! She rolls now and I'm pretty sure I mentioned that she is on solids which she ADORES! Loves her watermelon. She smiles heaps too. like all day everyday. Still doing great on the sleeping with 9pm-7am sleeps
Some updated pics for you lovely ladies

Choccie sorry to hear you have been having such a hard time with axle's reflux. I was only thinking about you today whilst using my thermomix :-) I hope you get some answers soon.

Toni it sucks being alone. I hope the time passes quickly and that River is a good little girl for you. Expressing wout someone to settle River cannot be easy.

Lil Smurfy - good luck with your exam! What are you studying?

Nila - I'd be celebrating the lack of aunty flow lol. Hopefully it sorts itself out soon

FTM we are going ok thanks! Growing so quickly and already 10wks today. Vale is so cute. Sounds as though she is a little chatterbox and developing nicely. I'm surprised how quickly they grow out of clothes, I need to start sorting through all of our 00 clothes.

    Hi all,
So thought I would read from the start of this thread and has taken me a few days! So much great advice been given in this thread
We have had a horrible few days!! Chelsea is so over the place with sleeping and eating. She seems to drink for 5 mins and then sleeps for hours! (Like 2-3). The other day she slept only for an hour and then would battle me at the boob for an hour and then grizzle and cry the whole time she was awake. Both DH and I were at breaking point last night and he noticed how much I was hurting with her latching and that she wasn't latching on properly. He helped me do the football hold and helped me guide the nipple in and it didn't hurt and she really guzzled! Took a long time to get it and seems she hates the football hold, but seems to be the only way she drinks!! Went to an early feeding clinic today and they helped me some other hints and of course while we were there, Chelsea was a perfect angel and even latched on herself with no help!!!!! Little monkey!
I am really worried though as she seems to only drink 5 minutes and then she is asleep! She is ALWAYS sleeping at the boob, it is a constant battle to keep her awake. Cold wash rags on the face don't bother her, And if we prod too much, she gets so annoyed she screams the house down!!! Being that she has a dirty nappy every feed, has good colour and has put on a lot of weight, I have been told not to worry, but I just instinctively don't feel something is right Nd that she is sleeping too much and drinking too little.

On top of this, today I found out that I have been made redundant at work

AND my MIL is being such a douche!!! What is meant to be the most amazing time of our life, she is throwing a tantrum and making it horrible!!! When I was pregnant, I told both parents that neither one could come visit in the first few weeks until I had this all sorted out. Neither set lives in the same city as us. I said they could visit, but not stay... For the first few weeks. Lat week I told DH that if his parents wanted to come down and stay, I was fine with this and then I told my mum should could come down at the end of September. She of course booked her tickets immediately. DH's mum has gone into a full on meltdown saying that we don't want anything to do with her because I said she couldn't come down and yet my mum is able to stay with us. Now she is refusing to speak to us and is apparently having a full on break down. I am so angry with her and she will use this for the rest of Chelsea's life. And really, who cares were you stay, isn't the point coming down to meet your grand daughter?? And if I wanted the queen to stay over you, that is my choice!!!!
My mum ruined our engagement happiness, Was stupid leading up to out wedding and now DH's mum has ruined this beautiful time between DH and I. An they wonder why we moved away from everyone!!!!

Sorry for the Debbie downer post....
Does anyone else have a bub that feeds for 5 mins and then sleeps 2.5-3hours and bub is fine?

    Thanks!!!

MissX, it could be thatChelsea is a really efficient feeder and she is getting what she needs, in the short time she is on the boob. If she is gaining weight, has wet nappies and is settled, I wouldn't worry.

I hope your MIL cuts her crap soon. I find it so frustrating that people feel the need to come and stay. It is hard enough with a baby, without family to contend with. Why can't people just find somewhere else to stay

Choccie, sounds like you've had a lot going on. I hope they are working out hat is wrong with Axle

Bond, thanks for the info on increasing supply. I hadn't heard that, but sounds like its worth a try.

Toni, I hope the time with DH away goes quickly. I'm the same, I spend heaps of time in the bedroom when DH is out.

FTM, I can't believe Vale is 17 weeks, wow. She's so cute. I'm glad she's enjoying her solids.

Nila, I wouldn't worry too much about AF not being back. You should be glad :-)
