Very sorry to hear that Sharlee
Very sorry to hear that Sharlee
A very big virtual hug sorry to hear.
Cue - that all sounds really promising. Mine all have some level of fragmentation too. It sounds like it's not a game stopper (unless there is more than 25%) and most embryos have it to some degree. Ideally there would be none, but many pregnancies happen from fragmented embryos.
Mumsical that is an amazing price! Mine are about $4,500 out of pocket a pop. Even FET's are over $1,000. A lower price would definitely take away some of the pressure to succeed each cycle.
Ps I just got news that 4 embies have been frozen! My first ever.
Milly888... 6 embies at 8 cells on Day 3 is excellent news, plus one more at 6/7 cells!!! Those are dream numbers that many of us just can't imagine. I'm literally jumping up and down here with excitement, just thinking about numbers like that, so hopefully you can feel some of my excitement for you too :-)) I am surprised that they were going to freeze some of them today at Day 3, as I would have grown all 7 out to Day 5, so you can pick the best one then. What did they say was the reasoning behind that?
Cue... your 4 embies are looking great too. I'm hoping everyone with such great numbers rubs off on me, and that I get something nice this time too :-)) I picked up Orgalutran meds today - I haven't had them before, but the nurse has scared me by saying that it's much worse than any other type of injection. Great!! I'm so not looking forward to doing the first one tonight.
Mumsical.... what special deal does your clinic have, that your next cycle is only going to cost $550? I've never heard of that before.
Sharlee.... really sorry to hear that. What a journey we must all go through for a baby to hold. And you were so close.
I'm also doing the Antagonist cycle this time. I'm only a couple of days into it so far, but really can't see much difference to previous protocols. Yes, the Long Down takes longer, because you sniff the Synarel spray beforehand, but the actual injections part seems the same. No side affects, well none yet.
MCG Bertie - that price is what it costs everyone, every cycle. The first cycle only cost $1300 and every subsequent cycle is $550. Its a clinic created to make IVF available and affordable. They don't usually freeze embies - you do an EPU each cycle and you don't go under general. Just Valium, codeine and gas. I found EPU fine - just a little uncomfortable. You also don't get to chose your specialist. You just get whoever is assigned to you at the time of your appt. The staff are all lovely though and the service excellent. Always call on time with results etc. I had to wait ages for my first appt but after that its been really quick. They mainly just do IVF though - so often their patients have explored other options with other clinics first and then transfer as its just so much easier cost wise. It definitely takes the pressure off.
You are too sweet MGC Thank you! I haven't made it this far on a cycle before so am feeling my way, being cautiously optimistic while knowing full well that nothing is certain.
I'm not sure why Dr recommended freezing some, other than we had good numbers, wanted some for future cycles and were hedging bets. I'm the type who constantly researches etc so am not sure why I just rolled with this decision. Maybe I thought that if we ever got to this stage the Drs could do what they liked, it seemed so unlikely?! Now I can think of lots of reasons why growing them out would have been a good idea (sort the viable from the non viable sooner, more certainty about quality this cycle and future FETs etc).
I have everything crossed that with your new protocol you will have some much deserved success this time around x
Bettie sorry to hear of your BFN, I know how much it hurts to hear that news. At least you're focussing on the next cycle which I found help me deal with it.
Sharlee you poor thing. Sending my love to you. Life can be so cruel! 😩
Thanks Maybebaby77 Im usually there before they open and was there 50mins before my nurses appt for my BT just in case its a little crazy today. They do seem be wanting to get you in and out quickly, so I usually end up on the nurses call list to double check things they've advised. But they forget I havent done this before so things like the new cycle cards Im not aware of to ask about. Just makes me wonder what else they haven't mentioned that Im not doing, ya know?
So the clinic has told me to stop the crinone which they said will lead to AF starting in 2 - 3 days time. Weird thing is I have read up on crinone and heaps of people who still get AF when they are on it. My HCG was 20 last thursday and has dropped to 15 today. I really just don't understand any of it and why do they tell you it is positive if it is not. It raises false hopes maybe they should say we need to retest you or something like that... Oh well I thought I was pregnant for 4 days and I got a couple of positive HPT's which is something I have never had before. Now to wait for AF
Thanks for hugs ect and good luck to everyone else for July I am still reading all your posts
